So with the upcoming hos changes
Ups is going with 6% rate up ticks
What does this mean for the tmc driver?
I've been thinking about jumping over there if the numbers make sense and I can get a Midwest regional gig
How's the home time work over there I stay out 4 months go home for ten days and repeat.
Does night dispatch suck and is running nights possible?
Does the FM have the only power to adjust times?
How long do you wait on the phone to talk to rs or your FM?
How often is your booking order messed up or your load isn't ready or doesn't exist?
How long on avg are you stuck at the shipper waiting for loads or loading?
Parking @ customers allowed?
Detention?
Layover?
You know I could go on and on but that's good for now

There's a whole lot in there! I'll give it a try:
TMC pays both by the mile or percentage. If you are on percentage, when the rates go up, your pay goes up.
You are supposed to get a day off for every extra week you stay out after two weeks I believe. You have to demand it though. If you don't, your FM will schedule you a load to deliver the next Monday after the weekend.
Night dispatch is not your FM. They help as much as they can but you have to keep in mind that when you call them you are putting them in the middle of a plan your FM worked out and they can only do the best they can. The hours you run is determined by the loads you carry. You run the truck. If running at night works, run at night if you want.
Changing times is done by your FM to keep you on schedule. If you start making calls to change your times, you had better have a good reason. This is frowned on.
The FM's are busy with usually 30-40 drivers all day every day. Your best bet to communicate is through the qualcom.
Loads are rarely wrong. TMC is trying to keep you moving and have the loads scheduled well ahead of time to keep you moving.
Waiting at shippers and consignee's varies place to place. Depends on the place.
Parking at customers is allowed sometimes. Your load screen will tell you which loads/customers allow it.
TMC pays detention and layover but, you have to be aggressive and keep reminding them.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!CargoWahgo Thanks this. -
