Well, they were when I didn't have to go to the safe racks. The trailer getting taken away was an unforseen circumstance. So they can go back to the despised angle or get replaced with some cheapo antennas until I get my trailer back. I don't see guy who can't open hatches lasting long. Oilfield has a way of weeding out the weak. So he won't last long and I'll get my trailer back. It's temporary. Plus when I see my trailer I will be sure to tell the driver all about Detmar's automatic Volvo's and how they run belly dumps now so drivers don't even get out of the truck. Send him over there and let them deal with him.
Update 2: So I had the weekend off since we finished the prefill on the new well on Friday and they don't go down hole until Monday. I've been somewhat productive over the weekend. I got a new antenna mount to replace the one that got bent. I made a couple of little marks to line up the new one to get it as close to in the same position as possible as to not upset the SWR's too much. Then I added springs. I don't know how much that addition will throw off the SWR's if at all but I guess I can always swing by the CB shop on my way home after this hitch to have them double check. The antenna survived the last strike that bent the mount. So Predator antennas are definitely a very durable and high quality product. Now with the addition of springs I should be able to rest a little easier. They are also remaining in their more upright position as of now and not returning to the disputed downward angle. There is still abit of an angle to account for the wind at speed but I think it's not enough to warrant much criticism.
