No, it's not brain surgery but..... you get what you pay for too. Just my opinion though. Be safe out there.

There will never be any fully automated trucks , there will always be a driver " see trains , plains , and ships " .
They are not even designed to replace the driver . They design these trucks to augment the highway portion of driving .
It is a popular misconception that trucks will go full auto , also the cost will increase not decrease . It is going to be expensive to keep those semi automated trucks working. Do you know how much it cost to have a sensor replaced and how often they fail ?
Not here to argue about your post , just to fill you in on how automated trucks really work .

Local needs hourly pay. $100 per hour with my trl. 80 per using your trl. Maybe more. Chicago local work deserves combat pay. My guess is it will take 12 hrs to do your 330 miles

Wow!!! You asked a question and didn't like the price so you resort to name calling? Personally I think you can stick your freight up your smoke stack. You clearly have no clue of the real cost of shipping, and no too much business acumen.

When you call an entire group of people worthless chaff, be prepared for nasty responses. Truckers are some of the hardest working folk in the world and you treating them like garbage is why you got the responses you got. Perhaps you should change your attitude towards them and treat them like the professionals they are.

It's people like you, trying to get the cheapest rate possible, why the trucking industry is such a hard business to run these days for individuals. You should realize that you'll get what you pay for, and especially in flat deck, chances are you are going to end up with some really bad companies that do a terrible job... but hey, you have insurance on your goods, and the only thing you'll have to worry about is wait times to collect on load claims.

Well, a 300 mile day for 600 or 700. Well is it mutiply loads, drop and hook, tarping and pulling side kit. Either way its gonna tie up the truck for the day. To me thats a half day of pay. Is there other possibilities to run a extra round or load every few days? But remember the truck is due back the next day to start over. Last year was not a good year for me. But 2.08cpm all miles driveway to driveway tractor only and under there authority. Its not my best. But bills are paid. Could pay per pound. I like heavy and short distance.

    where's this OP at?

    Alright...Enough marvelizing...

Im Here in Chicago, Im going to silence this debate once and for all on Local truckload Flatbed rates

Mr OP- Your a true embarrassment to our industry- And I get it- You are in business to operate efficiently and cut costs too- I Get it.

But you CANNOT think $600 per day on a 100 mile run is industry standard- Your 25-30% Short-

I'll give some TRUTHFUL examples here on Truckload Shipments via Flatbed -All inclusive rates-

Most Steel Products out of Gary,Portage-Chicago-Etc Pay on Weight-Amount of Stops-Etc-

    Here are some Honest Numbers-
    1. Gary,In to Rochelle,Il $835.00 Inclusive (80 miles)
    2.Chicago,Il to Des Plaines,Il $645.00 Inclusive (25 miles)
    3.Portage,In to Carol Stream,Il $750.00 inclusive (60 miles)
    4.Chicago,Il to Pleasant Prairie,Wi $700 Inclusive (65 miles)

To all My friends on here Drivers,Carriers,Dispatchers- DONT Let anyone Fool you and tell you otherwise......The Brokers have taken a strong Oath NEVER to submit defeat and let a carrier Understand.

This OP sounds like a Small carrier/Broker that thinks The Game is about "Using" the Novice and Unknowledged.........

Now you guys Know- The Complete Truth, And No, I Will Not have a Price on My head..Im Well respected around Here, By Many- Except Kaplan, lol
