Are those Hot-Shot (Tonka-Trucker) loads?
-
Why would you?
High fuel, tax, tolls and BS traffic.
Ran Denver to Santa Fe (396 miles) last night. Picked at 5pm and dropped at 4am. Was was parked 90 miles south at the Love’s in Belden , NM at 6:30 am. Paid $1,500
Got a 4 hour beer money load I’m thinking to do. Los Lunas to Albuquerque. $500 normally I don’t mess with these type loads but the pick and drop locations are super easy.
Got a nice one booked out of El Paso for Tuesday. Had one at the same shipper scheduled for Monday but made a decision to switch loads. Tuesday load has better appointment times and is 6,000 pounds lighter (22k lbs) got an extra $300 on it also so it’s a no brainer.
Needed something lighter because my clutch just started giving me problems..slipping under torque climbing hills. Vacation time after that one while the truck is in the shop. -
I put my first non payment money into my new trailer this weekend…
it needed one quart of oil in the reefer unit… probably do a pm in a couple weeks when it hits 1500 hours
also put fuel in it for the first time in 3 weeks, took 28 gallons though I haven’t worked a whole lot either being miserable with my back issuesLast edited: May 16, 2026
Siinman, Midwest Trucker, Concorde and 2 others Thank this. -
I hope u guys are right that the rates going up is becauase of all the foreigners getting pushed out... Who knows, every other reefer that passes me on the west coast is a a durka durka. Doesnt seem like much has changed
Siinman, Deere hunter, Gatordude and 9 others Thank this. -
May get even more interesting (capacity tightening) with the SCOTUS ruling holding brokers liable.
“the market may lose a group of carriers deemed too risky to employ due to limited history or questionable safety scores — typically lower-cost providers.”
Road check blitz probably didn’t help the bungee cord and duct tape crowd
Interesting article
What does the SCOTUS ruling mean for rates?Siinman, Midwest Trucker, gentleroger and 3 others Thank this. -
Wow that could be huge. As much as i disagree with this adminatration and the crap they are doing now with the war, they really have done about as good a job as governement could do going after some bad players in this industry. Lord knows trucking has needed an enema for along time now.

That blows about your back giving you problems. Been in complete agony the last month with shoulder pain. From my shoulder blade all the way down my right arm. Just now starting to feel better. Couldn’t get any narcotics for obvious reasons so I had to take an unhealthy dose of Tylenol. Got prescribed a non narcotic “Methocarbam” pain killer. Supposed to trick your brain into not feeling the pain.. ask your doc for a prescription and try it out. Honestly I don’t think it helped much due to my pain level being so high.

Yah know, capacity had already been shrinking for a long time but the economy was also contracting so we didn’t see a rise in rates. If one looks back to when we actually started seeing a rise in rates you could tie it to the tariff ruling. Now that there’s some kind of normalcy retailers are stocking their warehouses again.
Adding that in with the new ruling and who knows. I sure would like to see it last for a while..hasn’t been a easy road the last few years..D.Tibbitt and gentleroger Thank this. -
There’s no money in trucking. Everyone should should refrain from buying a truck and being another dollar hauler. Leave the heavy lifting to the rest of us. lol
