Here's a few thoughts for what they are worth.
Administration officials were asked about increasing domestic supplies of oil...answer..."there's no sense creating a permanent solution to a temporary problem". No help is coming from that direction so the answer is up to us. As costs rise we will have to just say no until we can make a decent amount for our work.
The ag sector is becoming very worrisome, unaffordable food may well become a much bigger problem than rising fuel prices in the not so distant future.
Weakness in the stock market is starting to resemble 2007, will we see a crash later this year? The resulting destruction of wealth has a huge impact on our industry.
Several analysts are sounding the alarm that there may be a disruption of oil flowing from Russia. If that should happen, empty pumps may become a reality here in the USA. Might want to keep those tanks full just in case.Rideandrepair, Siinman, Dino soar and 1 other person Thank this. -
One thing to take into account is how the consumer is going to react to the removal of COVID restrictions. Travel bookings are at a all time high, beating pre-covid era levels. That is an indication that people are going back to the habit of spending their money on SERVICES, like vacations, movies, eating out and sporting events, and there's a lot of pent-up demand that is waiting for an opportunity to let it all go.
We don't haul services.....EvergreenTrucking, just_sayin, Lite bug and 5 others Thank this. -
That was one week or even two weeks ago when people were making travel plans. We don't know if it will continue that way like we didn't know the rates will be dropping now. We didn't have a war in Ukraine. Times are uncertain.Rideandrepair and Dino soar Thank this.

I get the point of what you're saying but the thing is as inflation continues to grow and the prices for everything soar people are not going to be buying that TV or remodeling their home or buying whatever it is that they're going to go to the store and buy. People are going to start spending less and there's going to be less Goods to deliver.
I think within the last two years there has been an unprecedented number of people that got their Authority. People dove in head first.
We all know the price of fuel is going to continue to climb but if the rates begin to go down with all the people that have jumped into this trying to get rich, this could really really get ugly.
I mean like Rosie O'Donnell ugly. Downright scary and thoroughly sickening.Last edited: Mar 5, 2022
