IMO why would you want to put something out thats just not ready and may never be as long as you can make millions off the goberment ( aka our money) testing testing testing....
This is like five years of bs already...
Just my opinion. You can look up the billions we've already thrown at it for penny's on dollar returns.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

The only thing with this is that it uses an existing engine, existing transmission, and existing rear ends. Hopefully the hybrid technology can start trickling in to local and short haul segments of trucking and then we will be able to have the hybrid option for highway trucks post-2030.

I seen 12 MPG's but I believe it is loaded to 80K so that still is pretty good. I like the look!Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Most of these concept trucks have stuff built into them that come to market a few years later down the road. They are not set up to turn them out as a production truck. That is why they do not sell them. Took a lot of money to build it and even more money to bring all the tooling up to date just to do a run on parts. Lots of molds are done the cheap way because they only plan on pulling a hand full of parts from it for the concept.Rideandrepair, dwells40, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this.

I don't much care for how it looks. But $20K a year for fuel versus $40K is substantial.
-
It's not if the truck costs 200K more.

I thought you were talking about Rosie for a second.dwells40 Thanks this.

Honest question would this news in anyway affect rates? I’m thinking they are going to look for way to cut costs associated with the price cuts. The first thing anyone looks at I guess is shipping charges.

Those boys in Canada are making a decent looking hybrid and will even retro fit you old classic. The name of them escapes me at the moment

They cannot cut rates for price dropping in stores unless it is about supply vs demand. If no one is buying the products then it is a demand issue. The more they cut prices and the faster stuff sales than the more stuff that goes on trucks creating more demand. More demand means more product to ship and this will bring up the cost of shipping.
Likely neither will happen anytime soon, so won't see any changes for awhile one way or the other.Short Fuse EOD and Deere hunter Thank this.
