I have my wife fill my annual reports out…….that are prescribed by the FMCSA…….that I used to buy at the truck stop but now just order online from Amazon.
I’m listed as the inspector. I do the inspection and date it 3 months prior to expiration and it sits on my desk until the old one expires. That way, the one I carry in my truck is at least 3 months old (liability purposes).
BTW in all the years I’ve been inspected, no LEO has EVER asked why the driver name is on the annual inspection form. The only certificate that I can think of that’s in my filing cabinet (with the exception of driver credentials) is the one that says that I’ve implemented and understand drug testing procedures for drivers.

 

They shut down their corporate jet operations.
They own jets, a hangar and flight operations crew.

They’re dying a thousand deaths financially and probably won’t be around much longer.

Younger generations don’t want Harley’s

They got hit with a huge settlement too. Over a hundred million.

 

How does effecting one's own repairs and maintenance affect one's ROI is the real question.

 

I've always done my own inspections to be 100 percent sure I never have an expired one on board. However, I always got another one done when it's convenient from an outside vendor to have an extra eye on things. It also looks good in case of an audit for a small carrier.
