Better yet getting paid the D/H.I am on your side here..I deadhead out every single week i go to Mass. That is why i will only book the ''big'' money loads into Northeast.I factor in at least 500 miles D/H.
This is why i do not do Florida or down South unless it pays $4.50 or more a mile.
Rates are picking up...

going from bad spots to bad spots seems to be your niche lately. hey, whatever works !
windsmith Thanks this. -
Yep... I am pretty good at math... But as an independant who actually has skin in the game, your 2.50 rate is still not that great.

What do you pull? I can't remember, but I think flat?

I guess I was confused about why you think that the deadhead miles work against this being a good rate, considering it's all paid miles. The loaded mile rate is $3.34. Would you deadhead 300 miles out of Boston to load $3.34/mile? Sounds a little better when you frame it that way, doesn't it?

Like LS8891 said, u can do some good out of there with a short hop out. Been getting better out than it was last month on rates with the shorties. Doubt that u will have to go to Chicago to get something IMO. Be safe out there.
windsmith Thanks this. -
When you actually have money tied up in a trucking operation, you may understand why your 2.50 isn't all that great.

starsonwindow, windsmith and Sly Fox Thank this.
