CBS This Morning did a report about the shortage and how 45000 drivers are needed so companies are looking to retirement age people and older and is that safe......

I don't think it's so much as a shortage of drivers but more the turn over. Most don't last but a few months and either get in an accident, quit or fired. Most are from the ghettos and either can't get a job or this is the best thing aside from Burger King. Companies have to keep a steady supply of drivers running through them.

A know the person up here in NH that has the contract for FedEx and the U.S. Mail. Most all his drivers have been with him forever. Home every day, pay is good, health insurance and so on and plenty of extra work if you want it on the weekends or other days.

Listening to the NASCAR station on XM the other day and on comes a Schneider commercial looking for drivers "no matter where you live, West coast, East coast, and everywhere in between ".

Nah I wouldn't use the word *ghettos*. That sounds very ignorant..I know alot of new truck drivers that came from corporate America after being laid off... Come on man

yep, and I'd be one of them.
It's interesting to read / hear folks rant about "ghetto" people (understand Black people) who won't get off their arses and work, yet moments later opine about "ghetto" people (again, Blacks) who drive trucks for a living.

seems to be a contradiction in there somewhere......man.......people.....

Exactly I didn't want to use black people but that's exactly what I meant.. Where I'm from there are alot of "ghetto" people who own their own trucks and live great lives ..Just FYI
