Good to see you RW sounds like you haven't fully retired yet
I can't imagine ever walking away.. Got a question for you, have you ever been to that pawn shop on History Channel "Pawn Stars" show? Is Chumlee really as dumb as he looks? LoL
-
I think he is scripted heavily, for entertainment purposes.
-
He sure plays the part well.. I saw a re-run the other night ago where they bought this 1950's miniature "bowling alley" really cool looking game. He was horsing around where they had it stored in the back, tries to roll the bowling ball, and ended up throwing it through the glass face on the game and breaking it.. 60 year old antique survived all that long then Chumlee came around... LoL

RW, we spent 2-weeks in our new place and came back to IL this last Sunday. Didn't want to leave. But we have to finish packing our house and allow employees time to go down and find housing. So I guess we need to be in the office while they do that. Plus our last IL based orientation is this weekend so kind of important to be here for that.
But we got a new accounting person hired in TN, may have office space figured out and living 1/2 mile from downtown. All paid for with tax savings from leaving IL. -
That's incredible Bill, and a great example of how paying attention can put money in your pocket! Unfortunately, in today's business environment a lot of what we make is what we save.
-
I take huge exception to this statement. I believe that much of this consumer confidence sentiment that you are talking about is pushed on us by the media and politicians. More money can be made during economic downturns. But few are willing to put it all on the line and take that chance.
In terms of the move and money, this has been in the plans for a while but got moved up when our attorney told us that IL is now considering O/O's as employees. But between plates, no state personal income tax, future incentives for some of the hiring we are planning and a state that is structured for business it was a no-brainer.
Now forget all your pessimistic BS, throw you set of brass ones on the table and go for it.
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Maybe when we get IFTA stickers from TN Mike won't be able to wash the color off them...
now that was funny right there.. I think he washes that big red truck about twice a week LoL..

Hey Rolling yeah i sort of got away from trucking notice how i saw SORT OF...LOL... Ive been down to the pawn shop there and its nothing like what you see on TV. Yes the Crowds do line up but the Part you see on TV is a converted part of the store. The original part of the store is pretty trashy and you dont see the Stars that often. Before it became famous it was just one of a thousand pawn shops in town... Bill how much of a difference is it betweeen Ill and Tenn. You gonna get better rates out of there and less overhead. im just curious.
rollin coal and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
I'm glad you are doing well and saving some money on taxes down there Bill. However, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that despite how "terrible IL is on business" you really can't find a higher volume of freight or rates than northern IL. I guess you'll still send a truck or two here occasionally ?
