I think we have hit IL twice since we started with F2FWhen we left orientation and we got a load back that way to pick up a truck plate!
Looks like the cold is starting early so we will avoid it for a while longer lol.

It was snowing on me in Alberta yesterday. Northern MN just got like 5 inches of heavy wet snow.
I tend to avoid even going to ILL since I have been with F2F in July. -
Went to Chicago area once earlier this year on a round trip. Never go there otherwise.

Sure, plenty of volume but our drivers are in business for a profit and the rates are on the lower end.
State income tax was a secondary consideration. Biggest factor was when IL determined that all O/O's leased to me would need to be treated as employees. Add the way they charge and interpret IRP. Then the when looking at alternate locations, TN is a state that is considered to have model legislation in terms of trucking companies. And this includes O/O's and carriers. If you want to create a list of things a state could do to punish carriers, IL would be 2nd to CA. That volume you speak of is the only way they can get away with the toxic business climate they have created. -
Good Point Bill.

TN is kind of far.Why not to IN?volvodriver01 Thanks this.

I drive for a guy who runs a business now in TN and I live in MN.
I have met Bill once and talk to him at least on a regular basis on the phone. I talk with his wife probably more.
I have been probably a thorn in his side only in that I can get similar, but admittedly a little bit lower than Rollincoal running from MN to points out west. I have been to points east twice now. Can't say I made out bad, but I just like to run the mountains more. I suspect he'd like to see me come east more.
It's what I want to do, it's where I want to run and so long as I can make the revenue that keeps me happy and busy, it's what's likely going to continue to happen.
When/if I can cover a load for Bill, I do.
Personally, other than having my own company on the side of the truck, I can't think of a better outfit to run for.aiwiron and rollin coal Thank this. -
IN was never considered mainly for personal reasons but when you are relocating your business you look for the best location. TN meet all business considerations and was actually at the top of the list. But the big seller was Chattanooga. Great town.
