OK ... so if I want to know what the going rates are for a given lane, is there a source I can go to and monitor it? ... Thanks

some of the load boads have rate and load indexes for a general rule of thumb.

It's on their upper level subscriptions.

Rates for a perticular lane dont mean much to me. I ask the rate right off the bat, if ts higher than what i usually ask for i try for an extrat $100 or $50 if they cant do it i take the load anyway. If its less i ask them to match what i neee on the laod and if they wont irs have a nice day and i call on the next one.

Can I get a subscription to a load board without my own authority? I'm in a position to be able to get loads from a broker through my carrier, that I'm leased with.

I need a basis to negotiate rates ... other than what I've been able to glean form TTR. ... Thanks

I am leased on with Farm2Fleet.

I set myself up with GetLoaded.com and paid for it out of pocket for 60 days to try it in Aug/Sep. I wanted to know if it was worth it before I suggested it to Bill or Lauren to get it company wide.

They used their MC # and let me have an account.

(I suppose I should have asked permission, now I'll have to ask for forgiveness. ;) )

My situation is going to be a little more complicated ... If I used my companies MC, I'm sure to get rejected by any load board. They'd instantly know I wasn't the principal.

I am not listed as the principal either.

I called them up, told them what the deal was and they worked with me.

    No harm, no foul.

Do you need something to show your acct. for negotiations or are you just looking for yourself for guidelines?

OK ... what about truckloadrate.com ... anyone ever used them. Since I'm only interested in rates, they may be a better fit ... for a $30 scrip, I may as well give them a whirl.

Myself, for guidelines for negotiation ... My carrier is already set up with whatever they have negotiated with the broker. I'm negotiating with the broker for my cut.
