Hey guys I'm looking at buying a truck i go the ecm print out from the sales
man an iv got some questions on reading it. the last time i looked at a cat
printout it was pretty straight forword told ya life mpg and idle time %, unless
the guy forgot to send me a page which could be possible.

So am i reading these number right

    Total Time 7934:12
    Total Idle Time 3050:42

    Now divide them 3050 / 7934 = 0.38442 so 38%
Is it safe to say this truck has a life time idle % of 38%?

The one im stuck is the mpg

    Total Miles 249556
    Total Fuel 58276

Divide them you get 4.282 so 4.28mpg

but there is also a Total Max Fuel of 119303gal how does that fit
in whats it mean to divide with that number you get 2.09 and well
if thats the mpg thats down right scary the 4.28 is bad but room for
improvement cause i think the guy that had this truck hauled super
heavy. Oh and what does Average load factor mean? its at 48%

    Thanks for your answers guys

If that Cat ECM is like mine it is way off. My ECM reads at least 12 to 15% more fuel used than it takes to fill up truck. I don't think it allows for the fuel returned to the tanks and only the fuel that goes to the fuel rail.
