You know, it’s not “haters”, you just come across in a way here and on other threads like you know best, and if people don’t take your advice, then they’re essentially stupid. What works for you is great, but have you ever considered @BM 58 it might not be for everyone? At least this guy clearly explains what he wants and doesn’t want in a job, makes it much easier to make suggestions.

When I first started hauling flammable hazmat I thought the same thing. Then the more I learned about the tanks and how they are built ie. it takes ALOT to cause a boom or even a fire , I didn’t worry much about it.Speedy356, nextgentrucker and Rugerfan Thank this.

Yeah, I'm gonna clarify some things, I already said that I don’t like trucking, I can't drive manual, it's not that I don't want to drive manual. I would prefer driving during day time, I don't mind driving at night, I just don't like crazy schedule like: pick up this load at 5PM, deliver it 12 AM, pickup this next load at 10AM, then deliver it at 10 PM. Something crazy like that which is why I don't want to do Reefer cause I think maybe that's how it is. At least Flatbed is 95% daytime delivery. The mountains, I hate them... I'm a Florida boy, that's all I gotta say lol, and yeah, no fuel, I'm not hauling no bomb on wheel ( unless I absolutely have to ), so I hope, I cleared things out.Speedy356 Thanks this.

Man... My record is that bad huh.

Gonna check them out, thanks.

It’s already been clarified. You’re soft.TripleSix Thanks this.

Ummm, so a stray bullet is nothing to worry about? That's what I'm worries me the most lol.

Thanks, super trucker.

I will say this, if you hate trucking then consider doing something else. I’ve been doing this for 22 years, I don’t have the super trucker mentality like a lot of guys with experience have, I pull a frameless end dump, it’s not for the faint of heart but I don’t have to gloat my achievements, nor do I have to label someone “soft” because of the things they don’t like about this industry. But if your dislikes are something you’re not willing to change, and you do hate trucking, then just get out of it. You’re young enough to carve another path in life.
I don’t hate trucking, but I hate what it’s become, most older drivers probably understand that statement, it’s all I know though. Take advantage of your youth while you can, or before you know it you’ll be stuck out here, if you hate this job within the first year, I can dang sure guarantee you it’s not going to get any better. -
Let me clarity things again lol, maybe I just hate some things in my current company. I'm an introvert so you would think, that trucking, in theory would be perfect for me, I didn't get my first job until I was 21 I think ( I can't remember... ), so trucking would be my third, full time job. Yes, I hate the mountains, I don't like the feeling of going down in a downgrade, I don't like going to tight places where I have to back out on the road just to get out ( specially delivering in Miami... ), I don't like being stuck behind slow vehicles doing 63mph and I can't pass them because I'm governed at 65mph, but they're slowing me down. All of those, I don't like them but I can tolerate them. But I'm gonna change what I'm able to change, I have a slow *ss truck, governed at 65mph? So I'm looking for a company that have trucks that go at 70mph, no driver-cam ( invasion of privacy in book ), long waiting time at shippers and rreceivers and crazy schedule? No Reefer for me and no more touched freight, so I'm done with Flatbed ( done with them tarps ), which mean no food services either ( If I don't have to, I won't do them ), and I'm looking to run. Traffic, tight places, tight parking spots, I don't like them, but I can tolerate them because I know I can't change them. So... Tanker ( Or a good Dry Van company ) it is, who know, I might not like Tanker either, LMFAO!! The reason I came to the industry in first place was because I failed at what I "Really" wanted to do, which is a Web Developer, got fired at my job so, I liked driving, so I thought, maybe I would like trucking, but it's not what I expected, so I'm in trucking for now until I figured my life out and see what else I want to do next. BUT! According to @Rugerfan, I'm soft, I don't know, maybe I am.Last edited: Mar 30, 2025
