On a better note, the female instructor seems pretty cool..she came and talked to me and made me feel a bit better, I think ill be her shadow next week, they say she has the highest pass rate.

look at it this way you get another week of training that just means you will be even better have a good nite BBM
futuretruckerchic Thanks this. -
Another week will serve to make you a better driver.
Stay calm, cool ,collected, and you will come out of this just fine. We know you will do this, and get your CDL. I think you are intimidated by the test, so just see yourself doing it correctly in your mind. Be positive, stay focused and see yourself doing it right. Practice makes perfect, and remember an amateur practices until he gets it right, a profesional practices until he cannot do it wrong. You will get it right this week. You will do this.
futuretruckerchic and DenaliDad Thank this. -
so, I have tomorrow off and dont have to go back to the range till monday at 6pm, the new class isnt nearly as awesome as the one I belong with, saying goodbye to them was bittersweet..I will miss them a lot, I feel aweful that Im not leaving with them, but at the same time Im happy that they get to move on..kind of jelous and feel like I Should have been with them..This next week is going to suck = bad I can tell already, but Im here for one thing and that is to get a job driving for swift, and if these is the test I have to pass to do that, then I guess thats what im gonna do, It just seems like everything here is set up to push you to the breaking point to see whats going to happen, I am planning on testing out on wednesday night with Dee the instructor, I really hope to God that I can get the #### bumper in the friggin box this time.

Good Luck BBM. I am pulling for you my friend...
BigBusMan Thanks this. -
Dee's the nice one where John is not. I know you will do good with Dee. I know it is hard, but if anyone with can do it, its you BBM. Show em how its done.
KHinkeper Thanks this. -
Dee is awesome!!!!!
I had similar experiences with moving cones during training week but not while testing. During the week people would run over the cones and would not place them back where they belonged. Most importantly, you get one free G.O.A.L. if I remember correctly. Use it to check your bumper if you haven't already used it while backing. Get your trailer to where you think it is good and get out to double check, then adjust as needed.
Did I mention... Dee is Awesome!!!!! -
You don't have to be perfectly straight getting into the box.
Keep the back corner of the trailer jacked a little so you can get a better view of
it from the driver mirror.
Then look at the trailer corner marker light.
Get a feel for where it needs to be in relation to the cones.
A little bit of 'jack' makes it easier to see and gives better depth perception.Gold_Miner Thanks this. -
You could also think of it as a game of Pool.
The stick is the tractor.
The cue ball is the pivot point/fifth wheel.
The tandoms are the target ball.
The cones/dock is the pocket. -
That may not help much, if you are as bad at pool as I am.
