Mentor is cool for most part, pissed me off a couple of times yelling at me for shifting or going to slow after he tells me to slow down..lol..but all in all a good guy...been to TN and now in greenbay WI
OK, tomorrow we get our first decent load, going to LA..never been to Cali so this will be interesting, guess we are starting to team drive tomorrow, even though im only at about 30 hours, he said im ready, and so i guess thats what were doing, im suppose to stay up all night so I can drive 4pm to 4am which I guess i will be doing for the duration of my training..guess im OK with that, worried about how well im going to sleep while rolling but i think it will be ok, might take a day or two of adjustment..
You need to run all hours, thus getting used to being up n sleeping all hours of the day/night. And trust me, if yer tired enough you'll sleep. Took me till my 3rd day, by then I was so tired I fell asleep while mentor was doing his pretrip and woke up to him saying we were back home @ the terminal. Good luck in Cali, she's a animal of a different colour out there.
When i trained I let the student drive 8 a to 6 p sleep 7 p to 5 a then drive 6 a to 4 p backing off every day first early a 12 a - 4 a shift i stayed up w him till day break
Load to cali got cancelled so were going to dallas instead, I get to have my first go round with St.louis tonight..
i made it through St.Louis..mentor got up and made me go through downtown, i wanted to take the loop. he hade me go down some really ###### up exit ramp and I about #### myself..never doing that agin..lol...if i can help it..lol
That's probably I55 to I44 and it's a doozy. It will claim the lives of any car or truck that doesn't pay real close attention to that little speed limit sign.
