I absolutely am satisfied with the company I drive for/with. I one day but, being with this company has made me rethink that goal. Why not just start a fleet and stay contracted to this company and together we make THE company grow and prosper, sounds like a good goal to me. Sure, there were issues starting out, nothing that couldn't be solved and nothing that wasn't solved. Now, no issues at all. Personally, I don't know why any O/O wouldn't want to contract with this company, except those that are dead set on having their own authority anyway. I have only been driving a truck for 6+ years, dad drove 35, 1st cousin still drives after 40 years, two 2nd cousins drive for some time now and and uncle and many other family members drive or have drove truck but, I have checked many company's to contract with and haven't found one better yet.

Tonight, I am at the Petro in Atlanta,,,,what a circus...lol

Yep, I paid to stay but that is ok with me brother.. The $14 goes toward the $20 that they charge to park here over night and, the $14 plus my dinner is tax deductible...

Sitting here at the Harrisburg, PA TA and got caught up on some paperwork, not last months but, just some stupid stuff that I should have already been on top of. I still have to do Sept's paperwork, for end of month and now, Oct's.... I got my new Air Weigh gauge installed today and it works, now I just have to ship the bad one back before they charge me for the new one. Got lucky and found a UPS Ground drop box here at the TA but the little box won't fit...dang!!!!! In the morning I will try to locate a brick n mortar...

You know, before the owner called me up to tell me I could get my step, when I am ready,,,I was chopping at the bit to get it. Now, I have to put it off until the end of the month and the reason is simply; because I just got off 4 days at home and a short pay week. I need to run hard for the next couple weeks to make up for it and the week I will be off for my daughters trial. That will be the 17th to the 20th. Than, I will have to come out after that and run hard to make up for that short week. So, it looks like the end of Nov....GREAT! Starting the Stepdeck gig when the Winter is hitting.... Oh well, guess it is the way it is... gotta love life

Right when you put the reefer up, someone turns on the reefer in the clouds do you can work right out in it.
Have fun. I'll stick to my van until my truck is paid off. Keep at it! You're doing great!

Wal-Mart in Pottsville, PA was a blast, not! Had 3 skids to unload, took almost 4 hours. I have been in and out quicker with a full load..lol

Drive 85 miles to Gouldsboro, PA for a delivery at 23:30 tomorrow night than, 5 hours to the next delivery by 08:00 the next morning, I hate driving at night but, got to do what I got to do.

I am thinking about posting my settlements on this thread but not sure if I should. I have opened a Profit Gauges account and will be using that to keep track of my numbers.

Yo SheepDog... I have a slight idea of what It is, but I was hoping you felt like helping me out with a complete understanding of what a Profit Gauge Account is? Sounds interesting and necessary for a L/P situation. Thanks

I use profit gauges and have since I started. For me it is easy, just got to do it every month, in fact, I need to do Sept's today! You don't need my help brother, when you sign up, they will walk you through it. In fact, they will help you until you are comfortable and are confident you can do it on your own. And yes, it is necessary in a L/P situation and in fact, I think a program like profit gauges is necessary in a I/C situation or an O/O situation,,,any situation where you are making payments on the truck, trailer, maintenance, fuel, HHUT, and anything else that relates to your business. I wish you the best... Feel free to start your own thread and link it on here, we need more positive L/P threads...

We all have horror stories about how long it can take to unload a trailer. The most amazing case of the opposite happened to me a couple yests ago. I was tasked with making an after-hours delivery of about 35,000 lbs of strawberries to a farmers market in Grand Rapids. It was late and the receiver's crew was all long gone; the only person left was a supervisor who had waited for me. He wasn't happy to have to wait, what with wanting to go home after his long day, but this one guy unloaded 35,000 pounds of strawberries on pallets in ...

45 MINUTES. By himself, using one hi-lo. Onto an already crowded receiving dock.

Watching this guy work his equipment was amazing. There was no wasted effort and I didn't dare distract him to ask if I could help. After that, I never believed any receiver who told me "it's as fast as we can go."
