New ECM is still doing good,,,no Check Eng light and all is working as it should.
I have had an air leak since I got the truck last Jan but, everytime we find a leak and fix it, the problem isn't solved. Well, I have noticed for about a week now that the trailer has been taking longer and longer to air up. This morning I woke up, took my time and than when I did my pre-trip, I found a trailer tire was pretty low. I started the truck to let it air up but it was taking too long. I checked the line that is for the auto air up system and it was loose. So, I went and got my tools than figured I would check the other 3. As soon as I touched one of the lines on a different tire, it busted right off. Broke the valve stem right off. Go figure, I parked at a Pilot last night so no repair shop around. I called Loves 10 miles away and within an hour they were there. It took 2 hours to fix the wheel because 1.5 hrs was spent trying to get the broken valve stem out of the wheel. We tried everything but finally, it came out. Along with that repair done, I went and tightened up the original loose line. I now believe those were the leaks to the trailer, I will know in the morning...

Things are going good and weather is great down here is New Orleans... My ECM is still going strong and no fault codes.. Air leak is still there but not near as bad as it was before we fixed a tire valve stem and tightened another one...

Tonight is a great night! I am currently pulling my last reefer load and am happy to say it... I just picked up in Louisville, KY and will be heading to Mechanicsville, VA tomorrow morning. After I get the load off I will be DHing to Roanoke, VA to drop this trailer and pick up my step. I look forward to the new challenge ahead and to leaving behind the headaches of pulling this reefer.
I have noticed some new things in the Reefer Business that I have never seen before. 1)I have now been charged twice, in the last couple of weeks, a late fee for showing up past my appointment. and 2) I have been charged 3 times in the last 6 mo's for the pallets I was picking up, that were attached to the load. I have pulled a reefer, with my wife for a year and now another year, so two years all together and I have never encountered the pallet exchange fee's or the late fee's before. The 1st year I pulled a reefer with my wife, we did mainly produce but, this past year has been a mix of everything but produce. Just throwing that out there because I am probably going to hear that this practice has been going on since the first reefer was built...lolbergy and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
I wish you well in your step experience. Have fun !SheepDog Thanks this. -

Well, made it to my final Reefer delivery last night and as soon as I got unloaded I drove 200 miles to where my step was setting. Parked and got 3 hours sleep before getting up to get my rack put on my truck. Well, this shop dropped the ball big time. They have had the trailer for 3 months and were suppose to go over the trailer and fix everything it needed fixed. I guess they forgot about the tires, brakes and a light. They got the rack on my truck, which took about 3 hours. I than hooked up to my step and found a bad light, the lift axle didn't lift and the dump axle didn't dump. I noticed the tires while they were working on my truck, ridiculous to say the least. My company owner was not happy at all. He has been forking out more money in the last month than he has made. Grant it, that is the way business works but, if he would have been told about this a couple weeks ago, he would be able to afford 8 new tires, no problem. Now he will have to put used or recaps on for now and than put virgins on in a month or so. Why do shops have to be like that, just discusses me to no end.
Moving forward, because the shop took all day to get my trailer road worthy, I missed my appointment to get the tires replaced. So, now I will be stuck over the weekend but, the positive is this; I will get to know my new step real well and will have plenty of time to get the securement gear where it goes. Plus, I will get a restart....double yellow, icsheeple, bergy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Rough start to stepping
