Most times, when you adjust the clutch, it also brings the clutch brake back into adjustment as well. The adjustment is needed when the clutch engages too close to the top of the pedal stroke. Or you start slipping in high gears. You can do it yourself. Without a helper you may have to climb under the truck a few times to bump the starter to get the adjuster where you need it. Only takes a little, one notch usually gets it. I did mine in a parking lot once when mine started slipping and I was under a load with no time to hunt down a shop. Find a youtube video to see how it's done. It ain't rocket surgery. Just don't mess with the linkage adjustments unless you know what you're doing. A wrong turn on that could cause some real damage.

All I can say fellow truckers is,,,life can be tough sometimes and busy as well. I appreciate all the concern and I apologize for not getting on here sooner. I am really having a hard time with this business, since I started pulling this step-deck. I make enough money to pay my fixed/variables but my home life expenses are another thing. The hardest thing, and the thing that I believe would help me tremendously is finding loads. I stay pretty busy and as we all know, most brokers work from 9 to 5,,which is the time I am running so, hard to find a load, let alone look for one, when I am working. I have just about begged my wife to help me but, she just has no interest,,pretty rude if you ask me but, I guess she don't see it that way. I can not afford a dispatch service and I am just not confident in the free one I have with the company I am leased to. I am open to all idea's.

I just signed a contract to purchase 10 acre's over the next 3 years and I am a bit concerned about making the first payment.

Besides the time it takes to find loads, I am also unlucky. I find a load and it is gone, or all the loads I find have one thing that makes them not doable for me. I have a 48 x 96 step with ramps/levelers. I have tarps, chains, straps, corner protector's and other odds and ends. I run into drivers that don't carry tarps, chains and other assorted items,,,,how in the hell do they find loads that don't require those items and make enough money for the week???

Here is an example of my luck... last week I was in line to have a $5000.00 week but, in route to one of my drops in WI, I get a call saying the shipper made a mistake and my load was to go to MI. Well, that seemed like good luck to me because I had a load lined up to take me home anyway, all I had to do was cancel that load, which was only going to net me $525 so, $4500.00 week instead and, an extra day at the house. But, as I get about 45 miles into MI, I get another call saying,,,there was no mistake after all and load needed to go to WI... Well, I probably should have just turned around and went to WI, for delivery in the AM on Friday. Then found a load going to MI but, I didn't. I told them I was not going to turn around now and I would deliver the load today. They paid me some extra money for the screw up and I went home. Now, I am sitting, after I made delivery, until tomorrow, when I can call about loads. I have an Agent for Global Tranz that helps me out by looking for loads but, it seems like when I say I will take a load, every time the load it already taken...lol Not to mention, he doesn't have many loads at all anyway.

So, there it is,,my hat on the table... I feel like I am being a winer right now but,,,I need help and I am not afraid to ask for it. As of June 4th, I have completed my first year of being in business. I did better financially when I pulled the Reefer but, I enjoy pulling the Step much more. I am sure I can make money pulling a step, I just have to find that niche..

BTW,,,I spent all last Tuesday at the TA in Prescott, AR The techs were great but were very short handed and that is why I was there all day. Got everything fixed but I forgot to mention my clutch brake, during and after the tech adjusted my clutch. Oh, well....

Boy, they sure have changed the layout of TTR
