    Hay there drivers, i need a little advise iam 47 years old and have been out of a truck for the past 8 years, and have missed it. what i am looking for is a good flat bed company that could keep me going west of the mississippi river.i pulled flat bed for 12 years in the past,my wife would be with me but not as a driver.would like to be able to stay out for about 4 to 6 weeks and home for about 4to 6 days. i have a spotless driving record. any help would good.

    Welcome to the forum first of all..:) Maybe post your question in the "Jobs" thread? You don't say where your from or if your willing to relocate either..
    Getting started may be a prob for you (if you don't know) as most companies will view you as brand new cause of (insurance) However "If ya want it" you will get it..:) Good Luck!!

    thanks for the reply. i live in south west arkansas,near Mena. dont want to relocate, i still have my CDL with hazmat ,just doing a lot of reserch on companys.

    Look at System Transport. No negative reviews on the company.
    My next choice would be Melton Truck Lines. Both companies trucks have APU's also.
    8 yrs. out of the saddle will be a problem, but some companies have a re-training program. Much has changed in 8 yrs. When the 8 yr. problem comes up, ask the companies about refresher training.

    The cheapest refresher I know of is Paschall Truck Lines, but it's dry van. It's $1500.00 unless you stay with the company a year, then it's free.
