I have never put any additive in a tank in my 14 years, but some people I see doing that. I've only been in extreme cold a couple times. was like -10 in Chicago but I didn't have a problem with fuel.

I thought drivers only can drive 11 hrs a day
mje Thanks this. -
You can drive only 11 hours during your 14 hour clock period after you take your 10 hour break you can keep on driving. I had 1hr and something mins before I took my 10 hour break so you add that to the close to 11 I drove so it makes it 12. I probably could of got 14 hours in if I didn't stop so early this morning. Started driving yesterday afternoon at 5pm.

Ok , you lost me to ? Not saying your wrong , just trying to understand . So please help ! The only way a driver can drive 11 Hrs in a day is IF he has had 10 Hrs -- sleep or off duty -- you can have 14 hrs combined , but --three-- of them -- Should show on duty, not driving . If I'm reading your text right you carried some time over ? Thanks for the help !!!!

Dino, really enjoying your thread here. I do real time trip planning for reals sometimes, just get going and use the gps to 'see' the truckstops/rest areas along my route. Back when I was on paperlogs I had no qualms about getting to the truckstop at the same time my driving day was to end, now with Elogs, I don't cut it that close, nothing worse than getting a 2 minute violation just because I was backing into a spot.
Skip, a driver can legally drive up to 11 hours during a 14 hour shift (assuming he has enough hours available in the 70 hour bank). The other 3 hours belongs to the driver, but is often eaten up by dock time, eating, showering, or whatever else the driver wants to do including sitting for 11 hours straight driving and saving those 3 hours.
Let's say your started your day at 2345 for 15 minute pretrip, then drove for 11 hours straight, then did a 10 hour break and 15 minute pretrip again, you're legal to keep driving and going over 11 hours for the 24 hour period. That is best case scenario there, the best I ever did was like 12.25 hours driving doing that.mje Thanks this. -

Thanks Balakov I didn't catch that.
Well not real time but a few hours after real time. Parked at the Food Max in Roseville, CA waiting for my 6am apointment. 2 day was a pretty decent day. Had to get a few gallons of emergency fuel to make it to the fuel stop. 25 gal. I don't know what happen to my fuel mileage yesterday when I hit Wyoming. It dropped to 5mpg and must of been a strong east blowing wind, because didn't feel as windy as it normally is through there. Most of the time its a North or South wind blowing you all over the road. I also don't remember Donner being so easy to drive. I remember when I was in training and it scared the crap out of me in the passenger seat. Anyway I'm tired been a long day. You guys have a good night and a better day tomorrow.mje Thanks this. -
I'm really falling off the wagon with my Real Time updates. But here goes. Currently at Pick up in Sacramento. Load changed from Corona, Ca to Los Angeles Ca. Those miles are 18 empty, and 380 loaded. So lost a few miles.
I just got my Pre plan for next load. Picks up in Vernon, CA apt time is at 8am. Goes to Ogden Utah for 11/8/1600 Then I run up to our yard in Hyrum to get an A service and probably pick up next load. (mt miles are 43, and Loaded is 725) Hoping to get that load off earlier then 1600
Won't really set an eta until tomorrow after I get loaded. ON when I can get there. Also have to check how many hours will be left on my 70. I'm due home next Wednesday. Hoping I can get a good run out of Hyrum to keep the Mrsssssss. Happy and the disconnection notices from coming. Maybe get back with you guys when I touch down In LA. Going to do some google maps searches as we speak to see If I can park there overnight. Peace.scottied67 and mje Thank this.
