I'm hauling taters right now fresh from the fields... we run empty one way and I can run one load per day... depending on weight I'll gross $1400.00 to $1600.00 plus fsc on each load. The loads right now are 420 miles one way... this is the time we make our good money. After October we still do good but not quite as good.

When I was with Mercer we had lots of drivers, especially on the west coast, that would sit until the right load... going to the right place... at the right $$$ came along. If that meant sitting a week to make an extra 40 cents per mile so be it.... I never did that. If I got offered a load out I was gone.

    Hi
wanted to thank you for the info and advise you offer. I'm also based out of Arizona(phoenix) and trying hard to make it as a newbie owner operator.
can you offer to share any good brokers or customers you work with? I'm would like to build better bussines partners for myself.
    thanks
