The only hope they have is to listen to the has been's and never were's expound on how you have to go Mega mega mega carriers and live in a sleeper for 6 weeks at a crack, eating roller dogs to get started in this industry.

Dang that's great man! How much are you guys paid per mile & what's the average number of miles? Also I want to ask you are they taking Federal taxes out of your check? Every check I have received so far doesn't take any federal taxes out. & no I'm not exempt on my stub it's shows single & my dependents I claim. The only federal taxes that have been taken out on me since I've been with Schneider have been from when I received my Bonus. They took $75 for that. Idk what's going on, but I don't want the end of the year to roll around & Uncle Sam says I owe him 5 grand or something..

If they haven't taken taxes out yet I would call payroll ASAP and get some answers.

I'm not spreading any rumors here all the good companies require exp and they will not change their policy because their insurance companies require so much exp.How long have you been driving truck?Have one construction company that requires 3 yrs exp then others want a yr.The above average companies will always want exp and they have a better turnover rate too.

That is very strange. They've taken them out from the beginning. Call payroll and ask, they're really nice people over there.
As far as averages... I get .41 and averages... Lol. Around 400 miles a day? I have 600 mile days at least once a week but then I also have 0-200 mile days at least once a week...

    Months......

But started day one at an amazing company.... Because I only applied where I knew I would be making at least $80k a year.

Fielded multiple offers. Many listed 1+ years experience.

One thing that people rarely touch on in here is this:

What kind of life did you live before you applied? Is your past employment worth gambling on for a future in at top rated company?

We applied for the job we have now before we even went to CDL school.

Also @pattyj thanks for all your great advice.

I just want people to know that they may have already paid their dues at the previous company, work experience....

I must admit your post quoting me surprised me with your tone. Its like I thought u liked me lol. Some companies yes they do bend the rules but the better companies that treat their drivers well do not because drivers stay and they want the best of the best. Also alot of companies has their insurance make the call on who they can hire.

    TequilaSunrise Thanks this.

    This is absolutely not true.

There are members of this site that did not go the mega carrier route. They started out with a good company right from the start. It's possible if a person is not lazy and is willing to put in a little bit of work.

TequilaSunrise and MACK E-6 Thank this.
