Recruiters will sell unicorns, fart glitter, piss rainbows and poop cupcakes to try and sign you.
Maybe a better question is where else in the oilfield can you make big money without the rat race. It wouldn't have to be driving if the money/hours are better.

What? DUDE I WOULD ROLL OUT OF BED FOR 1500 per week wtf!

    That's like $6,000 per month!

But those experience requirements are crazy high! That you could be driving a truck for 7 years but still not qualify despite your age, clean history, and other really positive attributes and records!

Getting into the truck driving business is harder than I honestly could have ever thought...

Unfortunately when it comes to insurance, a lot of companies won't budge unless they're in dire need. As far as the average of 1500, it sounds decent, but who knows, you could make 1500 this week, and 600 the next out in the patch. It's a gamble.

Well for me it would have to be a good chunk more than I a make now in my cushy dedicated gig.
I guess I average abou 1000 a week with some as good as 1300 and some bad as 700.
So if I was sure it was 1500 steady eddy every week, that would just barely enough for to endure the brutal life in the oil fields.
Those guys earn their money. I am no stranger to long days I want to be compensated for them and the fact that I have to live in a man camp in the brutal cold or severe desert without an attractive woman for 100 miles in any direction.
And remember folks 1500 a week is only 75k a year and thats without taking much time off to see other humans.

Is it really that bad? I mean like That's 75k a year, "not only 75k a year"

I mean, most public defenders (lawyers) make only 50k a year. College professors start out at 50k a year, and some don't even progress more than that.

That will be well more then 11-12 hrs. Easily. Even if everything was preloaded. Always gonna be traffic running that route. Trust me. Do it often. Just don’t see it happening. And 4 a grand a week. You can do better. Have you looked at running local end dumps or belly dumps. My 3 local drivers avg around $1k a week. And only work 40-45 hrs typically. And most other outfits like mine are the same. Or if u have all endorsements. Can get a fuel hauling job making more. There are tons of intrastate jobs in central Tx always hiring. More then any other state in our nation. Don’t pay attention 2 the ads or websites saying X number of years exp. if u have almost 2 years and perfect record u will find a job, ins, and benefits and make at least $1k a week and be in your bed every night.

You can always find someone who makes less than you do.
But look at what a plumber makes even entry level. Trucking is a solid blue collar job that takes long hours and many personal sacrifices including accepting lower social status which can be a big handicap when it comes to dating. That is why few people are willing to do it.
Jobs are not paid by who deserves what and how much education do you have, its supply and demand.
If too few people are willing to enter a field of employment , wages must increase.
If oilfield work was fun and fulfilling to a large segment of society , then it would pay far less.

That's a really intelligent way of looking at it!

I'm finding more and more that going against the herd is always more profitable.

SO I LOOKED UP PLUMBESR LOL. WOW they make 200k when they're super experienced. No CDL needed :p.

Not totally jumping off the boat but.... man that looks easier than truck driving :p

Yea I passed on that job. It just wasn't worth it in the long run. I do have all of my endorsements and all of the fuel outfits I've applied to that want 2 years, have yet to contact me back unfortunately. Fuel hauling is something I thought might be interesting when I was going through CDL school but no bites as of yet besides UPT who offered 1000-2000 every 2 WEEKS, but I'm sorry, I'm not hauling fuel for those horrible wages. All of the end dump and belly dump positions around here seem to be taken as well. Can't find any currently although I've tried. I have done that type of work for my previous employer when the flat-bedding was slow and enjoyed it.
