I was gonna say. There had to be some type of weather problem. Like that incident in WY couple years back. Or even Florida with that 75 vehicle pileup.

mjd4277 and The Kraut Thank this.

    I wouldn't say it's a weather problem, it's more a driver problem.
Fog, snow or heavy rain, slow down and keep distance!

D.Tibbitt, daf105paccar and bzinger Thank this.

Not to mention the insistance of our stupid highways to stick with two lanes each way.

US67 is being replaced and brought up to future I-57 code with three or more lanes. It's already made a huge difference with morning traffic.

Bud A. and stayinback Thank this.

I wonder what sort of laws they have there covering HOS and such. Might have none, might have a lot. I could see it being either way.

It's already been proven that more lanes do not alleviate congestion, they only allow more cars to be parked on the freeway at any given time. This country has piss poor public transit and way too many people who believe they have to drive everywhere. Not only that, but their senseless 'errands' are of the utmost importance and need to be done while eating AND texting. You're required to intuit their every move and, if you don't, they'll sue you after they crawl out of the wreckage they created.

Further proof of why I have a fast truck but drive it around 65 to 67 unless in California, then its 55 to 60 and all the dummy's pass me .
A safe following distance seems to have gone out the window these days but not with me .
Job security for the personal injury attorneys.
I recently got a rate reduction on my liability insurance.

    D.Tibbitt, Bud A., 25(2)+2 and 4 others Thank this.
