Next time your at a place that uses the big rolls of shrink wrap, ask for a empty core. Really heavy duty thick carbord tubing is what it is. Cut it in half, find a way to mount it. Actualy it dosent need to be curved at all, two small peiecs of wood, screwed together at a 90 degree angle, mounuted on top will do.....

This guy kind of shows a technique I was shown at a work-well physical for Combined Transport a little while ago. Real easy on the back/arms. He doesn't do the best job showing how to set it up. But basically you form a big loop and let the roll sit in that, then rock it back and forth more and more and launch it over the top of the load. Easy Peasy.

Edit: LMAO just noticed FWL posted this in the other high load thread. And I never saw it there. Just looked on google for a video of throwing straps over high loads. :D

That's what I was thinking. So long as the clutch grabs nicely (some trucks they give to trainees get wrecked) it shouldn't be an issue. And slowing down, you just pop it out of gear, stop, and reset. I would never want to but I could.

make a big loop with your hook on the outside and the roll of your strap on the inside ,make a big loop type sling and whip it over the load, hard to explaine but easy to do,check youtube for throwing straps, everything is on youtube

I use the flip method. Roll out strap,Keep little wrapped and locked on winch. Then hold strap palm up with left hand. The n get you about 3foot tail on you right hand. Stand close to trailer. Work the strap back and forth. Then flipper over the loads easy. Save your shoulder and a lot of icy hot at night. Little practice you will find it easy.

Have you tried the flip method? You can also get a six foot or longer piece of Pvc pipe. Buy tee fitting , glue together. Use to hook the strap an pull down. Then cut the tee fitting on the bottom. Too allow your edge protector to slide in. Bingo two tools in one. Cheap and works great.

  11. Always good to give a driver alternative methods. One just may hit a cord.
