i was wondering the same thing. what's wrong with the unit switch itself.
a ford solenoid would work fine. for constant power through the big cables. just wiire it for a key on power supply instead of a key crank supply.
but it might burn up
i'd look for a battery switch.
Really need advice with a kill switch for an inverter

solenoids aren't dependant on battery voltage. you supply power to the little terminal. it magnetizes the plunger. making contact between the big terminals. as long as you got 10 volts. that solenoid will kick on.
you'll notice 2 little terminals. one says S. meaning start. you don't want that terminal. that's a whole nother lesson in inginitions. you want the terminal that says P. -
his inverter is outside of the cab. he wants to switch it on and off from inside the cab. a battery switch IS a solenoid.
snowwy - not from the key, from a toggle switch, get it ? -
all you need is one of these.ebay #131002550766.it will also protect circuit.
