Exactly how I log it and my logs have passed Level 1 inspections it Utah and New Mexico, Level 2 inspections in Arizona and Texas and Level 3 inspections in Arizona and Washington state plus a quick roadside check by a curious Texas state trooper.

My former employer's safety director was a retired New Mexico Motor Transportation Enforcement officer and told me that was perfectly legal.

it's not. log it all on duty not driving. live with the consequences. ps. please stay out of the oilfields. if you think it's tough fitting all that in on your 10, you wouldn't survive doing that on an 8 hour break.

Stick to what you feel is right. No company should dictate a drivers hours unless then wanna come out and drive for you.The problem with todays industry is everyone else tells the drivers how to log.Zero freedom anymore.

I wish some drivers would pay attention and stop trying to jock joust and impress people. I'm not asking if it's ok to not stay on duty during the entire unloading. I'm asking if going off duty as soon ad I get to the receiver, line 5 to a truckstop and actually get to sleep for whatever remains.

Just take your full 10 hr brk and if dispatch continues to badger you, take it up with your safety and log dept.Line 5 is personal conveyance,if you stay on line 1 while driving to the trkstop I think that is legal .Jus log it as you do it not how dispatch wants it done.If you feel you need your rest then log offduty once you are completely relieved of all your duties.
