Where do I get my information...I was an Instructor/OSR in Charlotte until August 13'. Now run local intermodal in Charlotte. Come to Charlotte and use the blue tooth on the yard during the day time. If they see you, they will stop you. Camera information came directly from the Safety Manager in Charlotte. QC while stopped is no big deal. Maybe a different culture in Texas. But the safety manager in Charlotte is 100 percent anti-phone.

IC's are exempt from most company policies.

Yes, the safety manager in Charlotte has lost her mind. She even has the instructors acting like the yard Police.

I have personally seen the driver services folks tell a driver to put on his seatbelt before they would open the gate for them. I have seen them back a truck up from the gate for the guy being on the phone trying to leave. You guys can say I am full of #### all you want. But the truth is that the culture in Charlotte is oppressive. It may not be the same for where you are, but I can guarantee that what I have said is very true in Charlotte. There is even one driver services rep that will run outside and make you move a bobtail from the front row if you try to park there. Even if it is just long enough to send a message and wait for a reply.

They all go out and tell you to move your bobtail from the front line no bobtail. It's a good rule and I like Charlotte for enforcing it. They even have mechanic go around and thump tires. Charlotte is strict not wild west like other OCs

Indy sometimes has a mech at the fuel pumps thumping and what not for immediate tractor issue write ups. W Memphis too. Seen that at the exit gate in Carlisle too.

No phone use while driving. Cb? well they have the mounts, will replace antenna as needed so hands free OR NOT seems to be ok. Go figure.

Well I was looking into cb radios and saw the Bluetooth one by cobra where u can sync ur phone to use it and basically the voice will come out of cb radio and mic for it is built into cb radio mic that's why I was wondering if Schneider would allow that

no exceptions such as that as far as I know. Their point is , IF you were involved in an accident and records were subpenaed then you could be held liable if on the phone at least by the company. Leave calls to your 30 min break and off duty time.
