Really? Samsara STILL hasn't fixed the 14-hour clock bug?

Some companies dont want their drivers to use it and i understand that because so many overcomplicate what is happening... I dont even know what u are trying to say.. if you do a 10 hour consecutive break. All your clocks other than the 70, completely reset... The question you should ask yourself is why are you splitting your 10 hour break between off duty and sleeper? Nobody does that and its why ur running into these problems.. go on sleeper for the full 10 and be done with it... Its not the elog causing the problem... If ur doing a split break dont log anything other than sleeper... Besides an off duty is not ever legal at a shipper or receiver.

Give an example of your logbook to further explain these problems? I ran samsara for the last 2 years and did split breaks 2 or more times a week and never once ran into it giving me the wrong times... Also yes samsara requires you to check the box in the settings to turn on split sleeper.. its not rocket science. Click the box and be done with it. You dont have to turn it on everyday

    I think what @mathematrucker
Are you saying that if you:
    -10hrs off
    -6hrs works
    -3hrs off
    -6hrs work
    -10hrs sleeper

that Samsara malfunctions and doesn't pause the 14hr-clock during the 3hrs off?

I laid it out plainly and clearly: in one scenario you have 17+ hours in your work shift, and in the other you have 14. What more needs to be said?

I would guess that it "malfunctions" in that scenario too, because it's a bit more complicated (as I mentioned in one of my replies) than the simple one I described in my original post. Just swap the 10 hours off and 10 hours sleeper in your scenario to get that one, which I recently confirmed Samsara Driver still mishandles. I prefer to call it a bug because the machine is just doing what Samsara's lazy programmers told it to when they wrote the app.

Then he doesnt have the split sleeper function turned on in samsara... And it is a user problem rather than a elog problem. I have used it perfectly fine every single time and have never had that happen to me 1 single time.. that is what my logbook looked like almost every single day.

Turn on your split sleeper function in samsara and your clock will be paused.

I'm just trying to understand and clarify what your scenario is in your original post.

    So you mean:
    -10hrs sleeper
    -6hrs work
    -3hrs off (should pause 14)
    -6hrs work
    -10hrs off

    ???

Thanks for pointing to that toggle again. This time you got me to look into it.

Here's what Samsara says, in a clumsy, verbose way:

This explains why the app wasn't pausing my 14. When I turn the toggle on, I'm pretty sure it will pause the clock whenever it's supposed to.

Thanks again for mentioning it. If I still encounter problems after turning on the toggle I'll report back, but I doubt there will be any (not even when the long rest portion is 10+ hours).

By the way, Canada's approach is way better in my opinion. There's no need for any toggle.

Yes that was essentially the scenario in my original post, but after learning about Samsara's split sleeper toggle just now, I am pretty sure not having it turned on was the problem, not the scenario. The reason I suspected the scenario was causing the problem was that it can be confusing, since it uses a normal, full rest break as part of a split sleeper berth break. Without knowing about that nutty toggle, it was the only thing I could think of.
