Not sure how old ya are, married, kids.... I to let the wrong head think to long.. Kinda like trucking, always looking for something better. Now Im old and no wife and kids and I quit the best driving job I ever had looking for something better. Sad thing is to get hired back on you have to wait for someone to retire.. The manager of said company didnt like new policies the parent company was wanting to implament. Same policies the parent company had and was always in the red and they would rob the smaller company to keep it up because it was always in the black. So what did he do?.. Started his own, Now he has all the office help and all the drivers from other company.. When I worked there the newest driver there had been there for 8yrs.. Some had been there for 20+.... How stupid was I?..lol

Sometimes you just don't know what you got until it's gone.

I'm 41. By the hair on said head still married. I'm not looking for a million dollars a year. Just a fair wage. I'm loyal as shot when it comes to my work. Probably more than I should be. I have had two jobs this being my third. My whole life.

Its not an easy job... Feed ingredients in a hopper bottom running the midwest south and southeast (my favorite). Some loads come out easy, some you have to blow out with air, beat on knock rails and sweep.. Cookie meal is always a treat, basically hauling a load of maggots to a hog farm.. And yes thats one of the get in and sweep out..lol

My all time favorite load is swinging meat.. No hassle freight.. Almost always pre-loaded. Just hook up and drag.. When you get there they want it.. 30 min or less unloaded.. Only cruddy thing is finding a washout after

UpsF, Conway Freight, all mess with Forklifts and unload even Linehaul. Linehaul jobs that don't touch freight OD, Estes, Abf, Saia, YRC, Holland(not 100% sure they might do dock work). Range .46-.57cpm starting with 1 yr or less exp. Make good money and be home to enjoy it. Guys range from 65-100k+ a year not touching freight. It's hiring season RIGHT NOW! If you delay you drop seniority.

If you run the road/linehaul for them you don't handle freight

Trust me, you need to get into an LTL carrier. LTL is a Career, not a job or a lifestyle. Home everyday is the ticket with a family and kids

Thanks buddy. Yeah I'm learning that. About line haul. Sounds like a pretty good gig if you one can get on with the right outfit.
