"Are you there mommy?" Tells me all I need to know about that "professional" driver. He obviously isnt a Maverick driver or he'd know all that crap he spewed was just that CRAP. Maverick pays their drivers well, they have benefits and they recognize drivers for doing a good job. So that excuse as to why drivers are unsafe is lame at best and down right criminal at worst. Any driver and I mean ANY driver with any company who is lazy about securing a load safely is a danger to other motorists! There is no excuse for being unsafe especially in load securement and thats why states are starting to fine in very large amounts for unsafe securement and heaven help ya if you get in an accident because of your laziness because you're probably goin to jail. So attitudes like "are you there mommy?" are way out of date. If I seeany driver securing unsafely I will and do say something to them and if that fails I have no problem calling their company. There is no room for laziness when it comes to safety.

I will say that I HAVE seen some really terrible TARP JOBS by a Maverick from time to time, but I have never seen a poor securement job done by one. Now, I am not foolish to think that it doesn't happen, like it did in this instance, but I believe most of us are extremely thorough and safety conscious, and a lot of times there are other Mavericks near by and no one wants to be seen doing something stupid in front of their peers.

I usually see straps instead of chains, no double tarp, no tee pee....things like that. I have never seen an securement job that was dangerous or I would have said something. I have seen recently a guy with big rips in the taps.

Looks like Maverick like many other companies don't care who they hire as long as the driver has a CDL he's good to go.Companies like this makes it bad for all drivers.

They hired some drivers who are "experienced" from another carrier on this account I am on and they never had to go thru the barn. They do not do stuff the "Maverick Way". That is a fact!

Just my opinion...and may be wrong...but I think Maverick is growing these "accounts" faster than they can train drivers.

Growth is good...but too much growth without the proper foundation is a recipe for failure in the long run...history has proven this several times.

Mavericks reputation and performance got them these accounts, that is good drivers with pride in their work...untrained, unprofessional drivers that don't have pride in what they do will bring this house of cards tumbling down just as fast as it was built, maybe faster.

EVERY SINGLE DRIVER HIRED should have to complete MAVERICK training...learn the MAVERICK WAY...and be #### proud of it!

If a potential driver is unwilling to do that...we don't need them, send them back to wherever they came from.

Edited...I think I'll email the rest of what I posted to somebody that might make a difference...as soon as I figure out who might be willing to hear it.

Maybe I should have emailed that instead of posting it here....

But its true...I am seeing too many really terrible looking tarp jobs...among other things.

A mans work is a reflection of the man himself...same goes for females.
