Don’t overheat a motor and keep them running cool If they are trying to get hot, get to the bottom of the problem immediately ,

Maintain your cooling system. Radiator , water pump and hoses while maintaining your coolant quality

The death of all motors starts with a overheating situation.

Do not lug your motors below their optimal RPM range. This is where they run most efficiently and can breathe.

Keep them turning rpms doing a pull. This moves a lot of air, oil and coolant.

A lugged motor will die From heat and wear.

Spend the money on a regular oil analysts. Cheap insurance that gives you a honest health condition of your engine.

Keep good fresh oil in the motor and only use top quality oil filters.

Roll in some new rods and mains when your losing oil pressure or oil samples call for it.

Also a firm believer of new oil pumps after a million.

Like getting a new pace maker at 75 yo

I’m about to hit 1.2. Have you do anything to your engine yet? Injectors.. Bearings... ? Mine still has never had a overhead. Never once opened up as far as I know.

    Frontman Thanks this.

Nothing internal. Just did a flywheel housing due to oil leak at back of motor and housing. Put a new clutch in 1850lb. And thinking of doing injectors cups and valve seals injectors for fuel economy and value seals due to blue smoke after sitting and ideling. It has oil use now about 1.5 gl. Per 11k miles
