The boss drove his 2000 Pete in to have the motor rebuilt. The shop rebuilt the motor, but now it won't stay running for more than 5 minutes. It sucks the fuel filters dry. The fuel lines are correct, as are the fuel line connectors. Now the shop has the motor all apart again. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Run a fuel line from the filter and drop it in the tank and see how long it runs. 5 mins is a long time to run before it runs out of fuel.

engine protection issue

Because it sucks the diesel filters dry they strip the motor????
Makes no sense as the issue wont be on the motor but somewhere between the diesel tank and the injectors , not the motor.areelius Thanks this. -
I agree with above poster. There may just be a fitting loose somewhere.

I should have said they have the injectors all out again.

No tranny removal. I didn't know that the fuel lines had a fitting on the Tranny...
