But at least with the old way if you were stuck at shipper/receiver for say 5 hours it didn't affect your hours available to work. I have done it both ways. With the old way we didn't have the 34 hour reset either,all you could was recap hours. The way it is now there are days where you have plenty drive/work hours available but because of the 14 you can't you them.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I agree with both of you. Most of my time driving, I could or should have been able to come back to the yard same day. You get a little tired, it's either drive tired to get home, or spend 10 hour break an hour from home! What's wrong with stopping for a 2 hour nap?
I just recognize that as nice as it would be to go back, it ain't gonna happen. -
I know pretrip starts clock, and 14 is 14,, but on paper can one go to off duty when you have to wait for (2 hours), then when loading start on duty.
Or sleeper berth?
All you do is sit and play on computer while waiting. -
Come on man... Your running paper and you don't fill out the Hours Availible column?

You can do the same thing on Elogs... The regulations don't change, except for one instance that I can think of.
