Get new front tires for yourself and move your old fronts back to the trailer......

Assuming you got the same size rubber

That's the price of a new Chinese tire. I would just buy brand new?

Also, don't get fooled on a used tire that has been "Regrooved" then they paint them black.

Used is usually newer than recap. Some recap casing will have over
300,000 miles on them. May have been capped twice. Used virgin with
70% tread will have only maybe 100,000 miles on it.

recaps are always liability, and public risk, more than paper logs... i wonder how many motorcyclists fell victim of those. I even say that they should be banned. Maybe except for some off road and agricultural use.
I've seen too much of recaps explosions causing all kinds of havoc and risks. I am not going to be convinced otherwise.

It's always from abuse and a lack of maintenence. Recaps are just as reliable as virgins if the casings are good and they are taken care of. When's the last time you seen a driver stick their tires or even raise the hood to check the oil for that matter?

That's why they always are going to be liability. the human negligence factor. I've never seen virgin tires to explode yet.

Virgin tires fail every day. Gators laying in the middle of the highway don't just come from recaps.

Now you're making me research this somewhere. Anyway, I did run on recaps and they were like time bombs for me. Ever since I started running on virgins only, last 7 years, no blow outs. Flats yes, of course, but no explosions. My own experience, anyway.
