A recap is a rolling total and I taught a few guys an e z way using the grid on the book cover.
Add line 1 & 2 and put the total in the first box. starting w/ this number add up 8 days and put this as the 8 day total.
Then either sutract the oldest day -or- just start over and add up 7 days, put this as the 7 day total and subtract this number from 70 and the result goes in the last box as the number of hours to work tomorrow.
As long as the 8 day total does not go over 70 you are good.
    Repeat every 24 hours.

Some called this roll over hours when using the grids in the log book a long time ago. I don't keep up with it since I don't drive, but husband uses them all the time as solo now. The best thing for him is not to run a whole lot of hours everyday, that way you have hours all the time. But it is so different when running teams.
