Reason for edit: Bad response, didn't read correctly. -
bsrtrong3: Study the book for the state where you are testing at and say what is in the book! If you are driving a truck what do buss rules matter? Keep it simple, the more you put in above and beyond only increases your chances for strikes against you. Grumpy that was educational but is there not also a 50/50/50 rule for recaps on steer tires. Vehicle cannot average over 50 mph., travel outside a 50 mile radius, 3rd 50? I agree with Fajo but is that the law?

I would run caps on my steers if they were my casings, that way I'd know their condition, if they had been run flat for 700 miles, etc.
-
Seriously???? Anyone that runs a cap on the steer axle is nuts! Want to have along and happy life? Steers get replaced in pairs. One has a leak or picks up a nail, they both come off and go to the trailer. And 2 new ones on the steer axle.
daf105paccar and S M D Thank this. -
PackRatTDI: A friend of mine came in today and I did him a favor, none work related, while I was picking up tools he picked up some bolts and asked if I forgot something on the last job. No I just put a head on a Wabco air compressor and they come with new bolts. However there is a nut and bolt gauge on the bin so you can check them and put them in the proper place. Yes, I knew you would not throw them away as cheap as you are. I am not a recap hater but even I will not do that. Thank you because now I know I am second in more then one area in a good way. The other one is God and if you are going to operate your equipment in that manner you may wish to work on a personal relationship with him. bstrong3 if you are still ready this stop, study your book and get some sleep. Good luck!

Just a FYI 98% of all US Airlines use retreads on their planes. Here is the facts 99% of all gator tails on the road come from tires that are under inflated or over loaded

The last blowout I had was a virgin tire on a new trailer.
Just saying...jbatmick Thanks this.
