Receive problem in a Cascadia

    Not sure haven't paid any attention. But don't think so. It just seems everyone talking is overpowered by a static/crackle noise. This just started. I've had problems with the radio before and had to send it in but it wasn't a receive issue. So not ruling out it being the radio. But it talks good so everyone says. I was talking to a guy the other night 4-5 miles away but he had a galaxy and I could hear him perfect. The other guys around him however were over powered by the static

    Do you have a 2nd radio?? Seee if you have same issue....That will rule out radio or ant side...
    Ground wire from ant mount to chassie doesnt help..Wrong kinda ground...It will help with static build up though..
    Tear apart you ant system and look for dirt,corrosion,loose connect or even water in the connections before you do anything else..

    Yeah I do have another radio. Was gonna try to do that this weekend. Idk what happened it's been working fine. That's what kinda makes me think it's something in the radio.

    I finally hooked up my galaxy dx 929 in my 16 cascadia the other day and it works good enuff to keep the gain down and the squelch up .
    Coming thru Kansas city today I had to shut it off .
