Yes, and actually she was apologetic towards me, and welcomed me to come to court if I could spare the time and expense to do so. I think the one that pulled me over, and there were 2 cars, was county, but I'm not sure about it, it was around 0200 on a Friday morning northwest of Manhattan on US 52. I was fined for being over 65 feet overall length. maybe for being long on wheelbase, I don't remember but they measured that, too.

I have in front of me a copy of the 2011 Deluxe Motor Carriers' Road Atlas.

Underneath a box labeled "Send us your comments!", which gives contact information for making suggestions by e-mail or snail mail, is an unhighlighted paragraph labeled "Acknowledgements"

Read that and understand what it says and means.

The information isn't guaranteed correct. Some states apparently submit corrections, and the coops are listed as soon as they are opened and deleted when closed, but not all states seem to take care of routing changes.

I call the map the LEO gave me that morning the $75 map, when in doubt, look at the map published by the State of Illinois. PA is more fun, and I look at that map every time I get off the routes I know, there are more complexities involved but at least I don't feel quite like I'm supporting the locals there by paying their fines, I9 haven't been fined in PA yet because the information and signage pretty much tell you what is allowed on state and US roads there.

They dont cite UNION truck drivers for that.... Cant wait till the cops in all these broke states get the blue flu when their paychecks stop.

If you know of a road that is in question PM/E-Mail me and I will submit an internal ticket into RM. I usually get an answer back the same/next day if it needs to be updated in the system.

That's good to hear, because US 10 around Detroit Lakes and US 14 around Waseca in Minnesota are totally messed up

Sometimes I just don't understand what a guy is supposed to do...I check EVERYTHING against my RM atlas and I call EVERY shipper/receiver for truck directions. Just the other day I ran into a situation in PA running parallel to the 476 where I doted my I's and crossed my T's and still came across a restriction for 48' only. Had to stop and turn around in a gas station and figure out a new route. How in the world am I supposed to know that restriction exists when it's not listed in the road atlas as restricted and the shipper recommended the route? It was actually colored yellow indicating truck route. BTW, the sign marking the route as restricted to 48' was the smallest print I'd ever seen on a sign...
