And you sent them pictures of the product after you had, uh, destroyed it, and disposed of it in the toilet?

The broker sometimes will find a warehouse to take rejected loads to. That happened to me in Virginia. The wrong product was shipped. The shipper out of Chicago didnt want to pay for me to take it back up there. The broker told me to take it a spot in Maryland.

We use several food banks to supplement our food. (It's unfortunate but.. Im not sure if they were not around what would have happened.)

In one of my churches back in 2002 we established a food pantry and I became a crew boss each month to deal with the people in line with numbers and have the children (With the carts) carry the food to the particular car of that person next in line.

By my count we fed about 230 families once a month. I had to stop that work in 2009 after I went blind, at that time we were then feeding 260 some months and additional USDA foods etc. The food budget in the church grew from around 800 a month out of Tithes into something that takes at least several thousand when you consider the cold storage and all of the freezers in it humming on the meter.

There is one particular form. When signed, it releases the food bank and crew from expired food, bad food, spoiled food etc. It is understood that you have the responsibility at home not to allow bad food to get into a human, either yourself, your family or anyone else. Throw it away. Much better than getting sick.

Currently I am estimating about 5 food pantries in our area we are roughly 1500 individuals, Families each month that are getting fed who otherwise may not have food for a while.

Here is the kicker. The foods donated are for the most part very poor quality. A food store tries to sell say cans of mixed veggies. The problem is the people do not like a certain really poor quality brand of mixed veggies. So.. it's thrown out or donated. Guess what it's donated. You will learn to enjoy those poor veggies out of that can.

Personally I don't consume that crap. But I usually give it away to someone who will consume it.

Let someone else make the decision (Shipper, Broker, Dispatch, whatever the case). Just make sure you are compensated for the decision.

I am going to wait for the new driver to the forum to comment on this in July, 2021 when he/she brings this topic up from the dead.
Maybe by then the OP will have done something with the rejected charcoal.

06driver, jsnell and Blackshack46 Thank this.

Had 2 skids of tomato paste refused in Memphis around 1986. Took 30 minutes and it was all sold. Opened back doors, and started selling it cheap. I had one store owner. Load his truck up with it. Made good money off those 2 skids.
