I have spent some time on these forums reading through threads and reviews. I understand I need to get my 1 to 2 years in before the pearly gates open for me to get a more serious position with a smaller company. I am strongly considering swift due to their Syracuse terminal being only an hour from me and I plan on trying to check out the terminal in person before signing up. At this time from what I've read and seen most of the large carriers are similar in benefits and pay. The only real differences are in reputation and how well the trucks are outfitted.

So I guess my question is at this time between these two knowing it's only temporary are either a terrible mistake?

I have no bills, no wife or kids, and don't mind being out and about for a while. I have my cdl-a with doubles/triples and metal coil endorsement. Stayed away from tanker at this time want a bit more experience before I think about that.

I have tried to find as much as I can on here if there are threads you think will be helpful feel free to link them and I will appreciate any and all advice given.

    Thank you

You are “prehired” everywhere. That’s nothing special.

Are u able to do flatbed? Meaning are you normal and physically able to do a little extra work?

I referenced the prehire to go with the video so I might get a little more info out of the company than the maker of the video.

As far as flatbed i'm in ok shape it is something I have thought about. The extra exercise wouldn't kill me. From the companies I have spoken with they tend to be shorter trips and pay percentage of the load over milage. That is only the companies I have spoken to though.

Ok think on something. You need to protect your CDL, DAC report, mental/physical longevity, and your lifetime career. That’s the best overall reason not to jump onto the first mega company that says “you’re hired”. You could end up hating life, miserable, and have an accident because the company treated you like ####.

Good point....PreHired.... what does that even mean? "I'm hired prior too being really hired?" lmao.

OP... don't give much credence to that word, it simply means "being considered" Does Not mean you have a job offer. Just sounds better.
