ODFL also has one in Phoenixville. Says 12 months experience, or a graduate of a training program accepted by their Safety Division, so maybe you're in luck.

i’ve been trying to google their accepted schools but i’ll call up tomorrow and ask over the phone. fingers crossed that they accept the one i went to.Chinatown Thanks this.

This is a bit off topic but i have a question. for companies such as Schneider, Swift, werner, etc, would i go through the same training and orientation as a non cdl holder? or Would I get connected directly to a Trainer and head on the road?
-
If you already have a cdl, then you'd bypass the school and go directly to orientation and a trainer.weekendso Thanks this.

My post wasn't directed at you. Sorry it seemed that way. It was directed at a few others that are always negative toward new drivers.

update: I’ve been turned down by US FOODS, & Old Dominion. still trying. had to rework my resume but still the choices are very slim with my experience level

Create a profile on Indeed so companies can see you. Not all companies are running adds. I know a couple younger guys that got contacted by employers this way and received decent job offers.
Also don't hesitate to submit applications even if the offer doesn't exactly fit your ideal job, you need experiance before you can be picky about things.
The other thing to keep in mind is sometimes when you start talking to them you find they have other runs that aren't listed on thier add.
My nieghbors kid got an offer from one company that was ok but not really what he wanted. He went in for an interview and found out they had a position not advertised that fit even better and took it instead of the one they called him about.Last edited: Aug 21, 2024

Did you do a "Driver Pulse TenStreet" application?
It's free and other drivers have had good luck there.weekendso Thanks this. -
Probably not what you had in mind, but Pitt Ohio is hiring dock workers at their Norristown location. Their website says they offer a 'truck driver advancement program' for dock workers, so it could be worth contacting them to let them know you're OK putting in some time on the dock, but you have your CDL and your intention is to move into a driving position ASAP. May as well hear how they respond. https://careers-pittohio.icims.com/jobs/1601/pt-dockworker--outbound,-5pm-start/job
