Maybe because the $600 a week training pay is more than they'd earn solo at other starter companies .

Just out of curiosity does anybody know what company hires recent cdl grads and has a training/orientation facility in the Buffalo, NY area?

I used to be the trainer for a small regional company. I would take new hires right out of CDL school and spend 2 or 3 weeks on the road with them, depending on their skill level. Then, unless I detected some real problems, we put them right to work. It worked fine, but our insurance company nixed this idea years ago.

yes its for non cdl holders and any one straight out of school

yes and no.....yes because some times your miles for the week are low and some carriers pay low starting pay. no because you can get a jobs with a decent starting wage and miles which can equal to more money in the 6 month time.
me personally would rather be solo sooner even if the pay was less than 600 a week just not one that likes teams. i could do it if i knew i could trust the other driver with my life 100% of the time and we got along great, but that isnt likely to happen. when i started originally in 06 i was leary of my trainer driving while i was sleeping and didnt sleep all that well, but did gain trust in him after awhile. he wasnt no new driver had 7 yrs under his belt and trained many students prior to me.

Your better off going for a OTR company for 1 year to gain that experience then do local. A lot of local companies say there "hiring no experience" but once you make that application if they see someone else with experience over you forget it. You gotta have that experience or know someone in the company to get local.
