Find a local reefer company. You can run OTR with out a problem. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Be HONEST with your employer, but don't be taken advantage of. Despite your crime, you are still a CDL driver and you are still a man. Keep knocking on doors, someone will let you in.

    Good Luck!

Keep your head up look beyond Georgia and do what you have to do.
My hubby is in the same boat(ex-concrete driver) but his crime was over 20 yrs ago and most company don't want to touch him because he made the mistake of not putting it on his online application for Werner who went back lifetime (he did put it on the in office application) they let him go and put it on his DAC report which hurt him even more. Most companies usually go back 3 to 5 years but I would put it down anyway. oh did you try McEnroy and western express I think that is the name look it up online As it stands my hubby got two calls so far Transam and Western express even with his felon.

You can try Carolina Cargo out of Rock Hill, SC. But be forewarned, don't expect much (pay or otherwise)....

Paschall trucklines. Murray ky. They don't check your criminal history just your work history. They aren't the best company by far but it is experience. You will have to run 10k miles with another inexperienced driver (that's their idea of training) if you applied today you would be in murray monday for 3 LONG days of paperwork. Good luck. Knight transportation is another that doesbt check your criminal history. I know lying isn't the thing to do but I lied about my felonys with both companys abd had no problem getting on with either. I recomend being honest tho because you may piss off an ex lol and she calls in to your company and tells on you. Fired on the spot. Had that happen to a friend at a eritt express. Anyway good luck.

    Lee,

Get to a computer that has google search on it..............

    Check traffic attorney, charlotte NC...............

30 minutes on the phone, and perhaps even a free consultation, with an attorney may be needed.

Not many people here can help you, you need to get busy, and do whatever it takes.....

There are people with worst records out here driving for a living !!!!

I have already gone that route. I had the tickets on my old SC license. The trucking companies only find out about them from asking me to list all license's for the last 5 years. I have had an NC license for almost 12 months. I moved up here to go to work for a company out of atlanta. I am a certified welder, rigger, and Journeyman Iron Woker. I have been doing steel, rebar, and concrete work my who life. the only other jobs I have ever had, are working for myself doing tree work. I also worked in the engineering field as a land surveyor. I have been wanting to get behind the wheel of a rig since I had the opportunity to drive for an Uncle who owns a tree farm. There is no other job in the world like it. I ran a Pete 13 speed for about 5 months on a permit. I can drive, I swear I can or I would not have paid the 4,000.00 for the school and the license if I did not think I could do the job. I have a fiance, a home and a child to support. I have been laid off since february, and there is no one out there that is willing to give me a chance. My background is clean. I had a defferred but it is 8 years old. I just need to find an O/O that i can take around town. If he will let me drive, 15 minutes and I will have the job. I have tried everything short of a presidential pardon. I even wrote the Gov. of SC, have not heard anything back yet. I have been sending a letter a day since graduation. Eventually he will have to send me something saying yes it is erased or no you need to do this, this way. I have a friend of my brother's that is a Powerful lawyer in SC. He got me out of a gun charge when I was 16. Country boy that got caught with his hunting rifle in the truck on school grounds. That was during the whole columbine thing. The point is, he is good at his job. I just do not have 6 months to wait on him. If I do not use this license in the next 70 days. It will be worthless. Need help, point me in a direction, or something. Do not care if it is class B or A. I just want to drive for a living. Any Ideas would be appreciated. To agree with what you are saying. My insurance is a woping 38.00 a month. that is it. I know people that are driving a truck right now that have had major accidents, roll overs, and DUI's. Some even have violent crime convictions. All the companies that I have applied to are big name, and they all say no. I need a small O/O or a small company within 100 miles of Charlotte, or one that would be willing to let me take the truck home. I am 26, white, have CDL class A, have taken Haz Mat, and doubles/triples test and passed. I am just waiting on the Background check. I have my passport so the background should not be a problem. I just need to go to work and the little woman is looking at me after we went into our life savings like I knew better than to do this. I looked on a ton of sites that said. " no more than 3 moving violations in last 3 years". I figured I was good. I also talked to companies, and they said all I would need to do is go to a 160 hour credited school, and I would be in. Now after I spent the money they tell me my driving history is not good enough and to try back in 6 months. I am sitting here going if I do that my Unemployment will run out. I have already spent 1000 dollars running around fixing my driving record to get it to where it is now. The state of SC, had all kinds of things on there that were not supposed to be there. I had to go to 2 seperate states and get court orders and all kinds of crap. Not cool when you are on a fixed income. Need help guys, need it bad. Dont say Carolina Cargo, already tried. I am saving that for the last call. I need a company that is not going to extort you for your past. and will pay you a reasonable pay rate. not 10 cpm, and the first 52.00 is per diem. where I used to work per diem was 125.00 a day, no matter if you worked or not, plus they paid for your room and board. now that was out of trucking, but you see where I am going.
