    @TruckingBuckeye1983, hazmat tanker driver here.....

    A $$$$$$$ suggestion for you: If at all possible--before you start your first trucking gig--apply for those trucking endorsements: tanker, hazmat, & also doubles/triples.

    Bonus points if you also score a TWIC card, while you're at it.

    Those endorsements will open up opportunities later for you--they are money makers....$$$$$$.

    It's significantly easier to apply for/get those endorsements if you are not already running/working for a carrier.

    Later on--you'll be glad you did! :hello1::thumbup:

    Chinatown's suggestions above are (as usual) good--but post #8 above is especially attractive.

    That's (as of the time of this writing, anyway) a very unique opportunity in the industry that's not (to my knowledge) available anywhere else.

    If I were starting out again--I'd probably be all over that one like fur on a weasel:

    USA Truck Introduces Self-Dispatch Program - Drivers - Trucking Info

    I'd drive USA Truck doing OTR for a year, to qualify--then I would apply for that load board/self-dispatch program.

    That's some terrific experience there.

    It will give you driving flexibility you won't get elsewhere.

    Think about it....:);)
