    Conway truckload wouldn't be a bad choice I started there and they have a good training program and pay is decent and setup for quick raises the ought your first year or so it's a mileage based system instead of time on job like most plus there equipment is pretty nice plus you get to run a truck on a skid pad which is pretty cool they hire out of florida and like in the area you/ I do it's pretty easy to get home and back out with them hauling alot of the Conway ltl loads plus they give you option to transfer to ltl after you first year keeping your time put in

    I just went with Roehl after being accepted by 11 others.

    [h=4]HOMEtime[h=5]Home time. Support. Responsiveness.[/h]The Power of Red means you will have a Life Outside the Truck™.
    Among new drivers and veterans alike, home time is a serious subject. While the good income is easy to get used to, being away from home is not. Drivers, after all, are also husbands and wives, fathers and mothers. They have friends and hobbies and responsibilities around the house like anybody else.
    You shouldn’t have to be on the road for two or three weeks at a time if you do not want to be.
    [h=5]Get your miles and go home[/h]You should know that in the trucking industry, there’s a relationship between income and home time. In order to accumulate the miles you need to take home more, with most companies you have to stay out weeks at a time. Roehl combines advanced technology, a strategically structured customer base and freight flow plan, and driver-friendly operations to optimize driver productivity. Just like you, we want your downtime to be spent in your living room, not on the road.
    [h=5]Outstanding operations support[/h]
    • Fleet Managers give drivers a familiar point of contact—one person who knows the details of each trip from beginning to end, your schedule and your preferences. And when you have a special request… a special occasion you want to be home for, Roehl is dedicated to getting you there.
    • Job-efficiency tools like E-ZPass[SUP]SM[/SUP], PrePass™ and TRANSFLO Express™ reduce time idling in lines and keep you moving.
    [h=5]Exceptional maintenance[/h]Roehl’s superb maintenance program keeps you running and earning more:

    • Regularly scheduled preventative maintenance at Roehl terminals makes breakdowns rare.
    • 24-hour emergency service gets you going fast in the unlikely case you have trouble on the road. One call and Roehl maintenance experts handle it from there. Roehl sends the nearest available service regardless of brand or service network affiliations.
    [h=5]Home on the road[/h]Sometimes quality time can mean taking family on the road with you. Roehl’s Rider Program gives you the opportunity to bring your spouse or child (over age 10) with you on the road.
    [h=5]A home time plan that fits your needs[/h]Different people, at different stages of life, have different home time needs. At Roehl, we work hard to get you the home time that balances your needs while still maximizing your earning potential. We take home time seriously. But don’t take our word for it; ask our drivers.
    [h=5]Watching out for your whole family[/h]Roehl is a family-oriented company; that’s why we are proud of our Life Outside the Truck™ philosophy. It means we’re dedicated not only to supporting the driver, but the driver’s family as well.
    We’re there as a resource for the driver’s spouse and loved ones. If they ever have to get a message to you, we make it happen right now. If they have questions about benefits, payroll or just about anything else that has to do with managing a household with one partner away on the road, we’re ready to help.
    Features like TRANSFLO Express® and direct deposit help your family manage its finances by getting your paycheck in the bank quickly, even if you’re in the middle of a trip.
    And when you’re on the road, Roehl’s state-of-the-art DriverLink satellite and DriverLink communication systems, gives us the ability to reach you if family emergencies arise.
    Over-the-road driving for Roehl can be a rewarding and positive career for your whole family… and Roehl believes you deserve a LOT—Life Outside the Truck.

    How Much Will You Earn?[/h]
    While many trucking companies struggle during changing economic cycles, Roehl is a proven performance leader with a diverse business portfolio and over five decades of growth. Roehl is one of the 100 largest trucking companies in the nation with over 1,900 tractors and 5,200 trailers. Our customers include some of the most prestigious brand names in America.We have the financial strength to offer drivers a total compensation plan, and we’re certified as a “Top Pay Carrier" by the National Transportation Institute™.
    [h=5]Your Choice Pay Plan™[/h]
    Roehl’s unique performance based Your Choice Pay Plan™ allows you to achieve higher levels of pay through higher levels of performance. Instead of being restricted to an annual increase, you can “choose” the next higher pay level by being a high performer. You can earn a pay increase every quarter up to our top rate.
    [h=5]Hire Bonus[/h]
    Upon successful completion of Safety and Job Skills Training Phase 1, meeting Roehl's qualifications and becoming a hire, you will be paid a $600 hire bonus.
    [h=5]P.M.P. (Practical Mileage Pay)[/h]
    Roehl offers PMP (Practical Mileage Pay). Many other companies pay short route (HHG) miles. Roehl's PMP can add thousands of dollars to your annual income because you're paid for more of the miles you've driven. Typically 5% more miles.
    [h=5]Mileage pay[/h]
    Roehl’s Your Choice Pay Plan™ rates are only a portion of the compensation equation. We also work hard to keep you moving so you can maximize your earning potential. It is our goal to provide you 2,300 to 2,600 miles per week. It is that balance that turns into a top income.
    [h=5]Multiple Pay Options[/h]
    Based on what works best for you and your individual needs, you can select Roehl’s Tax Advantage option. By classifying part of your mileage rate as an expense reimbursement rather than income, you end up with a bigger net paycheck. Simply put, that means you pay less weekly taxes and take home more weekly net pay.
    [h=5]Bonuses[/h]
    Almost every company mentions bonuses as part of their pay plan, but if the bonus qualifications are unrealistic (as many are) you’d better not count on them. And to make matters worse, most companies make a driver wait until the end of a quarter or even the year to receive them.When you experience the Power of Red we recognize you for driving safe, and we reward you as you go. No more waiting for a bonus – you’ll get paid as you drive those miles!
    [h=5]Profit Sharing[/h]
    Roehl also adds to drivers' financial well-being with one of the strongest profit sharing plans in the industry. Even during the economic downturn Roehl remained profitable and lived up to its commitment by sharing thousands of dollars in profits with our drivers.
    [h=5]Earn even more[/h]
    We have still more ways drivers can add to their incomes—like becoming a Driver Trainer (where you can add as much as $10,000 to your income) or referring other drivers to Roehl. Roehl pays drivers for services many other companies overlook—like all intermediate pickups and drops, tarping pay for flatbed drivers, premiums if you go to NYC or Canada, and extra when you haul a hazmat load.Whether it is hand loading/unloading, driving through designated areas, crossing borders or customer delays, you’ll earn extra pay for other work performed with Roehl.
    [h=5]Roehl referral rewards program[/h]
    Roehl pays you a cash finders fee when an experienced driver you referred joins and stays with the company. You’ll get your first payment after the driver’s first 3,500 paid miles and receive another payment after completion of 105,000 paid miles. There is no limit to the number of drivers you can refer and the referral rewards you can collect. We’ve had drivers earn as much as $4,000 a year.
    [h=5]Driver trainer program[/h]
    Roehl's on-the-job driver training program offers trainers the satisfaction of helping a person new to the job get started right. Being a trainer is your chance to pass along what you've learned and help teach a driver who will be a credit to you, Roehl and the industry.And Roehl will reward you for your contribution. Each day you train a student on the road, you'll earn your full mileage rate plus you'll be paid a daily training rate.
    [h=5]Tuition reimbursement[/h]
    It’s like getting someone to help pay for your CDL driving school training! If you paid cash or took out a loan for your tuition, and Roehl is your first-choice carrier, Roehl will repay you for what you spent on tuition—up to $6,000.You’ll receive a $100 reimbursement for every 9,000 paid solo miles you drive plus an additional $250 upon 25,000 paid solo miles and $250 at 50,000 paid solo miles. For most new drivers, that adds up to more than $1,500 their first year. Tuition reimbursement monies are considered taxable earnings. To assist you while on the road, Roehl will send your loan payment directly to your lender or school.

    Having second thoughts about going with Western Express. I was feeling desperate and impatient, saw their ad just posted on Craigslist so I went for it and. Applied online and immediately got a call from A recruiter. She said my bus ticket awaits for orientation monday. Sigh! I soon recall they are a very questionable company, poor CSA ratings, and much negative press here. The one silver lining I see is use them for experience for a few months then go to JB Hunt or similar. But I'm afraid those few months with WE might mess up my scorecard. Should I tell them to cancel my ticket, try to get with a better comp. or use them for a few months exp? Thanks!
