A few years ago, a tornado went through Yazoo City, Mississippi and wiped out a big chunk of town. All of my Momma's people are from there. I went there right after the tornado to check on my family, and found hat both of aunts lost heir homes and my grandmother lost her roof. Within 10 hours of he tornado, there was some dirty looking dude with a roofing sign on his door telling my grandmother that its going to cost her 9500 for a new roof. My uncle shows up while he's still there (thankfully) and he and the roofer get into a shouting match. The roofer guy gets aggressive, and only left because my uncle pulled out a hand-cannon (44 magnum) and let him know that it was time to leave.

There's a whole breed of people that make livings off of other people's misfortune. If you come to help, then thanks, we will return the favor to you when you need it. If you are there to make a paycheck, then go back where you came from and get a real job.

I figured I would leave most of that behind while out with a trainer, but I get your point. I was trying to have a weeks worth of clothing available at orientation for convenience. I do my own laundry and can do it in the evenings if need be and will adjust once more. The food weight is mainly from the canned fish and chicken. I eat quite a few salads and use the canned stuff for my protein intake. I can supplement with powdered protein and get the bulk and weight down for out with my trainer. I make my own granola and a mixed seed and nut mixture and that along with fresh fruit and veggies is my main nutrition. That does not take up that much room. I will see what is practical and adjust accordingly; I am laid back and have no problem with adjusting to the circumstances at hand.

Storm I have my laundry detergent in a 20 oz. water bottle along with dryer sheets to keep the dirty clothes smelling fresh as a spring rain.... cough cough. My personal hygiene bag has that along with what a person needs to keep myself sanitary and somewhat comfortable to sit next to for miles on end.

If you want to cut down even more instead of the 20oz bottle of laundry detergent get the all in one laundry sheets. You toss it in the washer and then toss it in the dryer. Very little space needed. They work pretty good too.

After all this talk about clothes and detergent, I just realized I'm out of clean drawers. Unless I turn them inside out, it looks like I'm going commando until I can get to Wal Mart

Hey thanks gone, I will definitely check those out! I was not aware of such an invention :) Technology, glorious and amazing all in the same element. I showered this morning at 530, went out in my garden a bit ago to string Kentucky Wonders up Corn and Sunflower Stalks; I need another shower with the humidity at near 90%. I got a good mess of greens, spinach, Kale along with some tender sugar snap pea pods and onions for a salad, brussel sprouts to steam for my last sit down meal for a while this evening. Grilled yard bird with Kev's secret spice mix to flavor the meat out on the grill. Makes all that tilling, weeding and plotting worth it when it begins to come in the way I think.

Gone, I wasn't aware of laundry sheets like that either! Thanks for the information on that! Going to check those out when I go grocery shopping this weekend.

I checked out the laundry soaps at the local HEB and did not find any dual purpose laundry sheets so its staying with the soap in a water bottle for now. it is concentrated so a lil goes a long way and it should last a while. I am off in the morning on the gray dog to LR. Will update as I begin this learning process.

I think it's purex. We take the sheets out of the box and put them in a ziplock baggie for less space. I get them at Walmart.

I know it's been a while since I have updated, but I needed to get a couple of DR appointments in to show I can control my glucose levels so HR can clear me to start orientation and actually work for Maverick. Maverick wants two fasting glucose levels below 140. I said easy peasy and it was! On May 20th my reported glucose level was 112 and I just had another reporting today on May 31st at 107! So I have shown I can control my glucose levels! So now just have to wait for my DR to fax all the information to Mavericks HR dept so I can be cleared to start Orientation. Next step is to get my orientation scheduled! It has been a long process, but I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel!

Hey storm, glad you got that glucose level stabilized. Eating healthy is really a choice. I am taking final eval in glass today. The training here at Maverick has been awesome. If you listen, respect and have a positive attitude you will like and enjoy the doors to success offered by this company. Imho
