Amen Bodarville, that is exactly correct..... you cant rely on company / other people to route you. And if your company does route you (like many do ) it is the DRIVERS resp. to check that route. :yes2557:

Don't worry, plenty of steering wheel holders that will jump in and insult you even AFTER you took responsibility for a mistake. I think a few have failed reading comprehension or are in such a rush to put someone down that they ignore the post.. Plenty of good, humble wise drivers here with valuable advice too, just have to learn to tell the difference.

As the above advice said NEVER pay for a ticket. Yes, a lawyer is expensive, BUT to just pay the ticket can cost you down the line and more than what you will pay the lawyer and fines!

Also said was the judge told the cop he has to sell the ticket! TRUE! There is NOT a police officer out there who is your "friend" when it comes to him standing next to you with an ink pen! Screw the gun! worry about the pen! He will tell you all kinds of stuff just to get you to open your mouth and utter a single word so he can use it against you. There is a link somewhere in TTR from I think the ACLU about HOW to talk to a police officer and if someone finds it post the link please! it's very informative and true! But back to the problem. Get that lawyer. Pay the money to him as he just might get it turned into a darn parking ticket!

When all else fails live in a state that doesn't assign points for any thing other than a moving violation. One violation = one point.

I've gotten out of state tickets and laugh when I'm told this is going to be 4 points or what ever number they pull out of their butts. I just say "not in my state". Assign all the points you want there mr officer sir, it only amounts to one where I live and thats what counts.

My co-worker recieved a ticket last week. He got a phone call. So he pulled over on the shoulder on the on ramp to the interstate. He answered his phone and while he was talking on his phone a state trooper pulled up behind him and gave him a ticket for parking there. He is going to fight that one, that is just a stupid ticket. He was trying to be safe and not talk on the phone while driving and he got a ticket for it.

Not saying it wasn't a "Stupid ticket", but......

Parking on the shoulder is for emergencies "ONLY" in some states.

That phone call wasn't an emergency.

Sometimes it's ###### if you do........ ###### if you don't.

You are correct, he is going to fight it though. I do not know if Indiana is a state where you can park on the shoulder of an on or off ramp.

OOPS! Indiana changed the law a few years back! NO parking on shoulders! That's due to these oh so nice idiots out here who dumped their pee bottles, trash and knocked over signs! He's pretty much gonna have to pay the parking ticket and then he really needs to get a blue tooth headset! They are much easier to use instead of holding that stupid little thing up to your head trying to hear through a tiny little hole!

The blue tooth sets are nice, but my company polices says no two way communication device should be use unless you can stop in a safe area and park there. I guess he thought that he was in a safe area? Where can I look up Indiana specific laws about things such as this?
