Got to be doing something wrong to get caught. I figured out, a long time ago, if I keep a low profile and keep my nose clean, the cops leave me alone. They want the ones that flaunt the law.

One thing is if speed limit was same it would be only 5 above and there are enough variables to beat that. There have been studies that claim two speed limits are more of a hazard that safety tool. And you have no sympathy I hope you get the samething when your turn comes and it always does. Those who boast about giving no sympathy always beg the most for it when the shoes on the other foot.bullhaulerswife Thanks this.

Yeah right and there's a easter bunny, tooth fairy and santa claus?
My good friend just got his son out of rehab and they were doing the"right" thing to. Caught and Uncaught thats it, wonder will you admitt it when you join the rest of us? -
I did 26 years in Law Enforcement and Reckless here in Michigan is one of the worst tickets you can get/dish out. I think in Michigan it's 6 points. Some other posts here have suggested lawyers or trying to get it dropped down, that is probably good advice. If the DA or CA/prosecutor is nice you can get that done with a phone call or meeting, if not or they can't by policy then you're probably looking at getting a lawyer to get a reduction.
There are so many proven benefits to driving a little slower, maybe the ticket is a warranted correction.Leftlane101, bullhaulerswife and Autocar Thank this. -
Ever see the movie Rainman? He claimed to be a good driver too....

Look, I don't like the split speed limits either. But for now it's the law, and if you disregard it then you do so at your own peril.
You won't hear about me getting a speeding ticket, as I've never heard of a driver getting a speeding ticket for driving at or below the posted limit.
Based on his comments to some of the posters in this thread, It's become obvious that the youngster that is the OP lacks the maturity to be a safe driver. Let's hope that experience teaches him something.Autocar and Leftlane101 Thank this. -

I will have to agree about the 2 posted speed limits being unsafe. Driving LCV that are 100+ feet on the Interstate @ 55 with autos doing +70mph and trying to change to another lane is sometimes difficult since MOST drivers are immature morons. I guess you just have to work with what your dealt. It does wear on a driver after decades. Now back to our regularly scheduled flame war.
EZ Money and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Has anybody ever seen even half the trucks going through Nashville obeying the 55 mph speed limit ? (PRIME and May don't count although several PRIME drivers have passed me there )
losttrucker and Chinatown Thank this. -
That strip of interstate is a real moneymaker; sometimes even the little rinky-dink town cops hang out there making money & even go so far as to writing tickets for illegal parking in the rest areas on that strip from Knoxville to the NC line. I always get in the right lane, stay at 55 and turn the CB off so I don't have to listen to the crybabies whining that I'm holding them up.
